to Compyfox's point, there's a difference between using a demo to figure out if you like the plugin, and continuing using the demo for the sole purpose of not paying for the plugin. it may not necessarily be illegal per se, but it still makes you an asshole, because you're taking advantage of developers' generosity and abusing his trust.
I think "the case" he is referring to is that many of these long, pointless arguments on KVR are perpetuated by those with a vested intrest....namely beta testers. This is not the first time I have seen where beta-testers come into a topic and start pushing one product over another or standing up for their bosses without letting people know they are in fact affiliates of the company.
What about those users, that happen to be "knowledged" in a tool weeks after it's initial release (or even after days, since they are just good at handling a tool)? Are they automatically also affiliated and therefore not allowed anymore to critically discuss a topic?
Let's lock and delete audio forums then!
Or write clear rules that "former/current beta testers have to unveil their status, and therefore break NDA's - else they're not allowed on KVR Audio". Just like it's mandatory to point out that you're being "sponsored" for a video on Youtube.
Go on, start a thread in "Site Stuff", I'll join. This is important. Let's make this happen!![]()

I like how my question is being ignored, btw.

No actually... your comment is just plain downright stupid - and you understood nothing.
But sure, continue to play the sovereign one.

Welcome to the show, everyone's a participant...
Sock puppets? I thought those were beta testers as well.
Yeah I ithink that is a great idea; let people know you have a vested interest in this product. And what does your knowledge of the tool have to do with berating people who don't like the price? Or telling people they are breaking the law using an unrestricted, no-time-limit demo that the company themselves offered?
