(Appears to be a multi-core issue) not Diva specific.

Well I tried the demo and the performance on my 12 core MacPro is woeful.
For example a single Diva plugin, default patch playing a simple melody is taking up 470% cpu in reason, the same in Live is 70% and Logic 45%.
All VST plugins that I have tried cause reason to use massive cpu amounts!
Edit: Propellerhead support have got back to me very quickly, hopefully they can shed some light on this.
Interestingly if I turn multi core off in reason the cpu drops drastically, from 470% to 60%. This is using a 128 buffer size.

WaveDNA's Liquid Rhythm 1.4.5.3 seems to have a big problem within Reason on Windows 7 (and possibly others)
Reason will not load it at all. Instead it throws up an error, Failed to open file.
No reason to put up a video on this one as it's essentially instant once trying to load the plugin.
EDIT: to put the proper version of Liquid Rhythm.

It's most likely not a Diva specific issue since he does mention:Urs wrote:Weird. We have tested all of our VST plug-ins without experiencing any problem.

I tried Iron Oxide Classic by Airwindows which I know doesn't have a GUI. It loads but you cannot open the panel so I'm guessing Reason doesn't provide a default generic panel for GUI-less plugins. Though this is just on quickly testing one plugin....so I might be wrong.camsr wrote:Do VSTs without GUIs work in Reason? Does it have a default control panel?
That said, I suppose you can use the CV programmer to change values. Not ideal though

I have problems with all my FXpansion plugins (including Synth Squad and Tremor). Windows 7, 64 bit.gas pump wrote:BFD3 VST drum library - Some interface issues
edit: GUI is unresponsive and after trying to change parameters on the GUI I get audio problems (stutter, drop-outs) which are not caused by high CPU consumption. I have to restart Reason to make audio work flawlessly again

For me Tassman 4 is unusable - just loading it causes Reason to shut down the DSP (at default CPU overload settings - see below) - I am finding for a few plugins CPU performance is certainly worse than in other hosts.
That being said people should note that by default Reason sets CPU overload protection at 80% which is too low and it does appear over sensitive - you can turn it off or set it to say 95% (remember this is just one core anyway)

DMGAudio EQuilibrium is sadly very laggy in my testing. Ironically Serum also caused me some crazy glitches (audio related) but that's probably just Serum that's buggy (seem similar problems in Cubase). The other plugins I tried seemed pretty good.

Acustica Audio GoldZL - one instance in Reason session with just one Redrum - gives me "your computer is too slow" blabla message.
I have i7 haswell at 4ghz(overclocked), 32gb ram
I can easily load 20 Acustica GOLDZL in Cubase, Reaper, Ableton and FL Studio (all tested and confirmed). Reason - only one GOLD ZL.
Go Propellerheads!

MeldaProduction plugins (at least v11) is not working correctly in Reason. I can't expand the interface, or open the preset browser. Unfortunately I upgraded to v11 before I tested v10, so I don't know if v10 still works.

Disable keyboard input in the plugin settings and you'll be back in businessstarflakeprj wrote:MeldaProduction plugins (at least v11) is not working correctly in Reason.
