I took advantage of the upgrade/update sale and by far for me Una Corda was the best part of the package.
Depends on what type of music you do, but for soundtrack style work, it is fantastic.

@V0rtex :
As I understand it the way NI license reselling works is that you may sell a free-standing license that you no longer need *so long as* it did not form part of your upgrade path to Komplete. So for example I originally bought Reaktor many years ago and then I used that license to get an upgrade deal to K6. Then I updated K6 to K8, now I've updated K8 to K11. However (as I understand it) I still cannot sell my free-standing Reaktor license because it still underpins my Komplete 11 license. Which is fair enough I think.

Yes. You need to keep Reaktor.

Happy I dumped my KU11 while the price hadn't bottomed out here.

It did help me realize what I actually use and what was essentially bloat though. I still like NI, but hopefully won't have to repeat the mistake of the GAS they gave me. And I do hope they go back to making everything accessible in my account again so I don't have to keep tricking NAccess into a direct download. (Tedious wanker that it is.)

I have K9 now, skipped the K10 update, update to K11 will cost me $99 with the summer sale. The main additions I'd be getting for the K11 update would be:

- Reaktor 6
- Form
- Polyplex
- Una Corda
- Rounds
- Kontour
- Kinetic Metal
- Strummed Acoustic
- Discovery India
- Drumlab
- Supercharger

In particular, Reaktor 6, Form, Polyplex, and Una Corda look to be very cool! So for $25 each, I'd say this is a very big no brainer upgrade! I've found it works best with Komplete to upgrade every other version. Really excellent value if you can wait for the 50% sale.

To upgrade to K11U, I'd have to pay an extra $200, and these are the main additions:

- Razor
- Skanner
- Discovery Cuba
- Discovery Gamelan
- Flesh
- Molekular
- Various cinematic and orchestral libraries, e.g., Damage, Evolve, Symphony Essentials, Action Strikes, Rise & Hit
- More drums and basses
- Various mixing effects

I'm sure that these K11U instruments are the usual NI high quality, but the only ones that really interest me and would see much use are Razor and Cuba. Didn't like Molekular when I demoed it, and I already have Replika XT. Not worth $200 to just get Razor and Cuba. So the best option for me is upgrade to K11. Bought and downloading now!!

Symphony Essentials is IMHO not worth it. I have K10U but decided against the upgrade to K11U because there were no really interesting additions on top of K11 . So I went for an upgrade to K11 (have K5, K9 and K10 in my account).

The reaktor blocks are pretty extensive and worthwhile IMHO.
I bought it, and have been pretty pleased with the value of that content. Amazing stuff. :tu:

Just checked. It's a no-go on the forum discount codes on JRRshop. They have an automatic 5% discount. Maybe Plugindiscounts will have a bigger discount?

I gave in and bought the Komplete upgrade from Musician's Friend, mostly to finally have Reaktor 6. I spend enough there to make the 16% Rewards worthwhile and they do offer free shipping. Before the sale is over, I still need to upgrade Replika to XT however.

Maybe my musical interests are starting to broaden again (having been wider before I focussed on becoming a drummer) - non-Ultimate just hasn't got what I'd be after, though. And I can't reeeaally justify the cost (coming on the heels of my TrapKAT 4 purchase in April). Maybe next year... (Or the Autumn sale if that's as good a deal.)
It's been $199 for me (as a KOMPLETE 6 owner) since September 1 of last year. Now it's $99.00/$94.50 through JRR Shop. I don't see the offer getting any better, so if you're still eligible, you might want to jump. By the time the next version comes out (sometime next year, according to KVRers), you may no longer be eligible if you're still on Kontakt 2.

Kontakt 2! Wow, I thought that I was cheap and waited a long time. Doooood! Live a little!

Symphony Essentials is actually really good. Did not expect that as well to be honest.

Yes, OTOH, if you want at least a few of the products in K.U. it will be tough to beat that $200 differential buying them individually and if you go for it then you end up with a lot of stuff that might prove useful. I counted over 20 products that are in ultimate that I thought that I would make use of, it will be hard to beat the price/per product on that anytime soon and I get the two or three things that I've been wanting for some time.

It will be a few years before the update is that cheap again.

I'll probably get K12 regular just to get Kontakt 6, but Ultimate will have to have products that I really want before I upgrade it again.
