I'm of a similar opinion. Ultimate is great for the pros and semi-pros and for those fortunate to not have to count their pennies, but for me and my needs Ultimate is beyond what is necessary. I already have all the Abbey Road drum kits, Studio Drummer, Retro Machines Mk2, The Gentleman, The Grandeur and The Maverick pianos and Scarbee J-Bass. Just going to say it, NI singles are largely a bad investment. I make one, and only one, exception, that's Reaktor. I'll stay on top of Reaktor no matter what, but everything else? Agreed, for "new" products - either half-price sale or bundle. Fortunately, most of them came from the Sell/Buy forum here as licence transfers for a reasonable price, so I paid nowhere near what NI would have asked.
