50% off on Ultimate is a really good deal... I was on K11 standard and 299$ for Ultimate is a such great deal. But now I need to buy another Hard Drive :hihi:

Next time I wont have to go from K11 Standard to K12 Ultimate full price.
It will be K11 Ultimate to K12 Ultimate, will should be cheaper.

I spend 300$ K11 Ultimate and the next update will be something like 399$

It will cost me : 300 + 399$ = 699$

If you wait, K11 Standard to K12 Ultimate, it will cost you around 599$

Its not a great deal if you dont need it now
I just hope they release K12 next year, if not, Im losing 100$

Symphony Essentials is actually really good. Did not expect that as well to be honest.
I think it is worth the upgrade for SE. I upgraded a year ago for full upgrade price but already used SE quite alot.

Maybe my musical interests are starting to broaden again (having been wider before I focussed on becoming a drummer) - non-Ultimate just hasn't got what I'd be after, though. And I can't reeeaally justify the cost (coming on the heels of my TrapKAT 4 purchase in April). Maybe next year... (Or the Autumn sale if that's as good a deal.)
Kontakt 2! Wow, I thought that I was cheap and waited a long time. Doooood! Live a little!
Wow indeed haha x2

Didn't like Molekular when I demoed it, and I already have Replika XT. Not worth $200 to just get Razor and Cuba. So the best option for me is upgrade to K11. Bought and downloading now!!
I'm of a similar opinion. Ultimate is great for the pros and semi-pros and for those fortunate to not have to count their pennies, but for me and my needs Ultimate is beyond what is necessary. The only item I really wanted out of Ultimate was Razor so I bought a standalone license for that second hand a while ago.

As a K8 user I am looking forward to finally getting my hands on Monark, Reaktor 6, etc. Had an email from NI to say the HD was in the post.

That's my qualifying licence. All my upgrade licences and soundware products don't count, I guess.

I don't see the offer getting any better, so if you're still eligible, you might want to jump. By the time the next version comes out (sometime next year, according to KVRers), you may no longer be eligible if you're still on Kontakt 2.

I already have all the Abbey Road drum kits, Studio Drummer, Retro Machines Mk2, The Gentleman, The Grandeur and The Maverick pianos and Scarbee J-Bass. As above, I've got a "full" licence on Kontakt 2 and upgrades to 5, that's why it's K2 that's my qualifying licence.

Komplete is £159 (US$205) and misses much of the content I'd actually be after (but does have some interesting bits)... but Ultimate is £399 (US$515), which makes it rather expensive unless I'm definitely going to be using it. Given I've yet to get off my backside and use the non drum gear I've already got, I think I'd be best advised to wait and see whether I've a need for anything I've not already got.

Just going to say it, NI singles are largely a bad investment. I make one, and only one, exception, that's Reaktor. I'll stay on top of Reaktor no matter what, but everything else? Bundle or nothing!

Agreed, for "new" products - either half-price sale or bundle. Fortunately, most of them came from the Sell/Buy forum here as licence transfers for a reasonable price, so I paid nowhere near what NI would have asked. I don't understand why they don't offer the Abbey Road kits as a bundle, really - hard to get a price point for, perhaps.

Komplete is one of the few products that I think it would be nice to have avaiable also with a subscription, 100 per year given how much their updates costs.

I have Reaktor and now Kontakt, and massive. I've no interest in anything else for some reason (maybe Absynth at some point) Too much content for me other than that, I guess.

*shrugs.

I'm really only after Reaktor 6, but being on K9, I think this is one of the cheapest upgrades to Ultimate I've seen in a while ($299). Correct? I suppose I could just go K11 @ $99 and be done with it, but I'd like to at some point make the jump to Ultimate (and i figure now's a good a time as any). What's the upgrade price like from Ultimate 10 to Ultimate 11? Basically, I'm trying to gauge if I go to Ultimate now, which seems a good price, what future update cost will be like from, as an example Ulti 11 to Ulti 12. Any ideas? Opinions?

Reason for wanting K11U? I'm cutting down on VSTs and stuff. I figure it's all self-contained with their updater control center thingy and that just makes things easier. I'm over updating things manually... I'm getting lazy, and NI caters to that

Ultimate 10 to 11 with the summer sale is US$ 199.50, regular price is US$ 399.00

If you buy the update now, like I explained before, it will cost you US$ 199.50 (summer sale price)

Ulti 11 to Ulti 12 will be around 399$ regular price

If K12 Ulti comes out in 4 months and you already bought K11 Ulti update for 199.50$ at the summer sale, it will still cost you 399$ to upgrade from K11 Ultimate to K12 Ultimate. Ulti 10 to Ulti 12 will be around 399$ also. If you buy the update now and K12 is out in 4 months and you buy it too, you lose 199.50$

I think you should wait for K12 ultimate (it should come by october) and buy the update at full price. Buy K11 Ultimate update only if you need it NOW.

The summer sale is just marketing strategy

Ah, I see what you're saying. I read your post earlier in the thread kinda half arsed, and didn't actually "get" it. Thanks for taking the time to explain it again to the dunce... me ;)

Only other thing to consider for my situation is I only upgrade when it's 50% off, cause really, I don't need anything these days. This is all "nice to have" stuff.

Considering Ultimate to next Ultimate is around $399 every time ($200 during summer sale), I might hold off on going Ultimate and just get on K11 @ 99 for now, which gives me Reaktor6... hmmmm. As said before, buying any NI singles is just bad overall, which is the reason I don't want to just upgrade Reaktor.

Thanks again for that explanation.
