They're usually the same people that posted daily cat pics before it's release. Now that it's on version 2, they still feel obligated to continue their cat fight. ;)

Bitwig is only on version 2 and has already surpassed Ableton Live's features and stability. When they release the modular devices and utilities it will be crowned the ultimate live performance DAW on the planet. So expect to see cats in space pics. ;)

Bitwig Studio does not have a video track feature, even at version 2.1 :x

That makes no sense in 2017.

My favorite DAWs are : Studio One Pro 3.5, and Cubase Pro 9.

A lot of us Bitwig users are using the free VST video player....works well....

Which Free VST Video Player works great with Bitwig Studio ? and supports multiple video formats ? I'm a bit skeptical about how efficient, and stable these VST video players are when used in a DAW.

Anyways... Hopefully Bitwig Studio developers will eventually (the sooner the better) , add a Video Track feature in BWS.

I would like that... in the meanwhile, when I want to work with video, I use a different DAW

Is this still running a separate JAVA UI ?
And did they give up on the subscription or is that still a thing ?
Those were the two things that stopped me even demoing v2

hopefully I put an end to that in the last Bitwig thread, another member started a thread in OT for cat pics related to Bitwig, rest assured cat pics will be deleted from this thread. :tu:

It is a matter of how the word is defined. What that word subscription means to me is that you pay regular payments and if you stop making payments, you lose access to the application. That is not the case with Bitwig. Someone can purchase Bitwig (now 2.1) and never pay another penny and use it for years to come. So I do not consider that to be subscription. If you want to define subscription differently, that is up to you and not worth arguing about.

As for the GUI, I doubt the underlying tech has changed, but I really don't know or care. It works well for me and that is all that matters to me. You of course are free to make choices based on whatever criteria you wish.

Soon we will interact with our music in ways we might find disturbing now.

Well, Bitwig might've surpassed Ableton as far as features go, but it's rather subjective when it comes to the stability side of things. Perhaps you should've pointed out that it's in your opinion/experience Bitwig has surpassed Ableton in stability, instead of presenting it as a fact.

For example, in my experience, it's not true at all. I've tried various versions of Bitwig on two different Windows based systems and on my current hackintosh, and all I can say is that Ableton has been far more stable and cpu efficient with the same set of plugins and interfaces.

M4L crashed my AL at least 10 times day ... uninstalled after I was not able to load back my project file ... done :?

I would say Live and Bitwig are about the same for me in terms of stability, both solid. But that is Live without M4L. With M4L, Live is less stable than Bitwig for me.
