Hi guys. I just released the Earthshine Soundset for Dune 2 I am very excited about this release and have a been a huge fan of Synapse Audio for over a decade! Earthshine for Dune 2 contains 155 patches and covers many areas of sound design,including lush atmospheric, floating pads, slick formant legato leads with insane modulations via the modulation wheel, gnarly modern snappy basses, exotic digital plucks, keys, and keyscapes, and interesting sequences. It is perfectly suited for any electronic genre. If you like sounds that are out of the ordinary, you are in for a real treat.




This soundset has been in the works for a V E R Y long time, indeed. Over two years I've been compiling patches, tweaking, perfecting and selecting to finally narrow down the soundset. Some of these lead patches are really o u t o f t h i s w o r l d and have some very complex and sophisticated patch structuring going on with many different types of filters and resonance settings. This is a P E R F E C T playground for audio rate modulation, which Dune 2 absolutely excels at. There are some breathtaking pads and floating keys within the soundset as well, often using all 8 layers.

I'll be posting more audio examples as well during the next few days, and maybe some videos and/or tutorials where I go about creating some patches.

I'm also working on a track to demonstrate the presets in a song. Usually, I am selective when I am making tracks anyways, if they can't stand out on there own, they don't belong in a mix That's just my way of doing things though

Thanks MattMusic I love reading that. You picked out some very nice ones indeed Also, a few of the pad sounds make really great keys as well, like Zero Gravity. The bass Analog patches have a beautiful deep sub and is great fun with the MW or playing on keys with VL. Keys Persian Love sound beautiful with the modulation wheel, a lead is triggered. I can go on and on, and they all are technically my favorites Thanks again bro, glad you are liking the bank

My next post will be a tutorial where I create a multi-layered lead and setting things right to achieve a formant like effect and how to set it up nicely with the modulation wheel

Here's that video. I create a formant lead using the filters across many layers of dune 2, using a Sallen Key Band Pass filter with high res settings for a subtle and not so subtle scream effect. I then set it up with the modulation wheel for a nice effect and experiment a little bit adding distortion and the foldback filter effect. Hope you guys enjoy, more incoming - pads and bass sequences, and probably another lead one since its so much fun
