Fed up with AcidPlanet and the fact that potential listeners are put off by the requirement to register I started the process of getting a site set up with IUMA :D
I was told that within 2 working days they would get back to me with confirmation that everything had been set up ok. That was 5 working days ago and I am yet to hear anything :?
E-mails to "artisthelp@iuma.com" are immediately returned as failures.
Any clues ??? :help:

Thanks
Ian

When I first signed up with Iuma I was on dialup and it took lots of time to upload but the service seemed good and I was able to finally get my tunes heard. Now that I am on DSL I can't even download my own music, it is running very slow there (less than 2kb/sec). It took them many months to get back up from their maintenance and my guess is they are having serious problems. Not sure what it could be. They have a forum there but there does not seem to be any talk of the problems.
Oh well. :-o :( :?

Yup, IUMA is a bit f**ked right now... :( :(

any news...? two weeks ago I uploaded a track for a new site and still nothing... :(

Post

I'm yet to hear anything from artist support :x
WTF is going on there ?
I think that I'll not bother uploading any thing else and will probably pull that which I have already submitted.
Not exactly the most enthralling way to commence a partnership, is it ? :?

IUMA was good when I signed up back in '02. I gave up on them about a year ago. They never answered any of my emails, and their upload server is unreliable. A while back I signed up for Garage Band, but I would've had to post two reviews before I could even upload one song. :/

mmmh, too bad. I remember iuma 1 year ago and was pretty better.

so...I know it's not a new question, forgive me...
but where to sign-up for some free space for mp3s?
(until it drops dead :D , like the others...)

You might want to try
http://www.electromancer.com

Still independant, still free, still able to listen or download any tunes by any (member) artist at any time, submitted tunes visible within a day usually.
They do have strict rules about uncleared samples in your tunes though, and for free you get 4 tunes on your page, max 8mb each.
For a nominal fee (£6 a year, if I remember right) you gain platinum status and can then have unlimited tunes.

I don't think you can deep-link the same as you can/could at Iuma - that's cos the guy wants the hits in order to stay up and running.
