Strangest Reasons for Taking up Music in the First Place

I will start. I left high school expecting that I would never do music again. Indeed, if you had told me that right now I would be seriously composing piano music, I'd be expecting a greater chance of being an astronaut. But I used to be a serious chess player. Then I got accused of cheating; there was no basis to it, I was losing games, and I was not given any chance at all to explain my games.

So I had more time on my hands. So I taught myself music theory from scratch. I picked up a book and expected to give up after 5 minutes. But I am still, to my amazement a few years later, composing music.
