That's a nice full sound.

Here's a more raw Funk track (2013) curtesy of Victor Wooten. A small drum kit, bass, wha-wha guitars. As good as the come. The groove here is just delicious:

and something that sounds like classic Funk (The Meters) but is in fact from 2015:

Always love a wha-wha Clav:

Mark Colby - Skat Talk
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Nice effects on that brass section on the Mark Colby track.

Here's another from 2015: Polyrhythmics - Octagon Pt 2

Here's something smooth, yet full of Funk groove, maybe going into Jazz too much at times:

Hm... gone a bit quiet. Does this count?

(I won't try any Snarky Puppy... definitely too far too jazz for this thread... though it's what pulled me into the genre.)

Was just listening to a Guitar Legends CD.

The song listed as 'mick taylor - living in the laid back' sounded way funky.

Can't find a link for it on YT.

Actually, the CD is called GUITAR MEN.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
