This is going to be blasphemy of the highest order, but my biggest disappointment is Reaktor 6. I thought I would enjoy the block system. I was wrong. For some reason I much prefer the Reaktor 5 way of working, which is totally insane to me. That and its still not resizable in my DAW.... ugggg....
... oh dear :scared: Please do tell... this (R6 for Blocks) is the only reason why I was considering / tempted to upgrade from K9 to K11.
I am sure its more my own "creative modular ineptitude" than anything else.

Its not the sound of the blocks, is the paradigm of having a hodgepodge of different looking UI scattered across the screen instead of building one cohesive one. I tend to like to build dedicated instruments and effects in Reaktor with their own UI.

I think this is a sign that I do not need a Eurorack modular ever :hihi:

Right, right. Ok. Well, I do agree, does look a bit like a bit of a dog's breakfast, but considering as you noted, the Eurorack paradigm, that's kind of what I was expecting in anyway (the hodgepodge clusterf*ck that is modular).

I have a feeling I may suddenly suffer "creative modular ineptitude" as well once I get my hands on this. It sounds all exciting and fantastic and all that, but I generally don't have a lot of time to piss about, main reason why I haven't, after all these years, gotten Zebra (OT, I know, but ye...).

...the fence... I'm on it. Still. Cheers though ;)

I feel you on this. I really don't like the Blocks paradigm at all. They made choices to make it more appealing to noobs and that comes with some consequences, some good, some bad.

R6 does resize in your DAW, well, it does in mine in any case.

I'm also not a fan of the file rearrangement, but whatever, I can deal with that. I've helped it along with some of my own personal rearrangement in my personal library.

What you shouldn't do though is dismiss R6 because of Blocks. There are a lot of cool building tools, especially in core. I keep R5 installed as well and still use it for old projects. R6 is supposed to be faster, but it is slower to load ensembles, which is annoying.

Indeed. To put my criticism more clearly: I do not have a problem with the sound of Reaktor 6, I just don't like the blocks UI paradigm.

I still use multiple instances of Reaktor in every project and will continue to do so increasingly as I learn the capabilities of R6.

Do I have any use of NI Service Center now that it seems NI uses Native Access as the main installer/updater ?

No. For Kontakt, it's no more necessary to use it to activate softwares. Everything is through Native Access.

Wasn't planning to upgrade from KU10, until I found this:

Komplete Ultimate Update from Komplete Ultimate 8-10: 160$

http://www.timespace.com/product/K11ULT ... pdate.html?

Since Best Service and JRR Shop are offering download options, you can contact Timespace after purchase and ask them to send the serial number through email instead of mail and they will refund the shipping price from the purchase.

Other upgrade options are available.

Wow. Their komplete ultimate 11 crossgrade is $419 plus shipping. That's cheaper than jrrshop.com.
