Hey all,
How can I partition my drives in Win XP Home? According to the helpfile, I can go to "Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Computer Management-->Disk Management" and then right-click in a drive to select "create new partition".
Is it not possible to divide a primary parition into smaller partitions? I know it can be done with utilities like Partition Magic, if I had $70 spare, I can think of music-related stuff I'd buy instead.
I can't do it all as part of a fresh install, because it's on an OEM "image"-type disc that came with the computer, and they didn't include a separate copy of the WinXP disc.

Freeware would be ideal, but I can't seem to locate any. 
Yes, the space has been allocated, even though it's empty.
Guess I'm screwed without 3rd party. Thanks for the reply, though! I'll keep looking for freeware... and I might not feel guilty about a fully-functioning demo for this one time (better planning next time), but that might be hard to find-- the ones I've seen let you configure but not apply changes made.
