Thanks for the info, good to know. Although, clearly not as useful as being able to save/load custom kits and patterns as per the factory content.
Iirc the sequencer is new to version 2. So i'm hoping this will be solved in the updates.

I guess a lot of people will be unhappy about this. I hardly know a vst without a proper save functionalty.

Sorry for my bad english, but i'm very disappointed.
1. No saving kits/patterns
2. So many useless sounds such as extremely pitched BDs and snares.
3. No "free-shifting" in the patterns.
4. Very primitive channel's EQ.
5. I wonder why developers set the presets volume up to +10 db? Every time I change the preset I get my master bus very overloaded.
6. I don't understand why all kits comes with FX turned on.
7. As for sound, I checked the LM One kit and there's some samples has a click at the end of the sound.

(I will never buy products without demo, he-he :) )

Thanks for your report. The good thing is, UVI do update their libraries so an update may fix some things at some point. But as it is, as a BA1 owner, the update to BA2 might not be worth it after all.

2) This was a problem with BA1 already, as I said earlier, the LinnDrum kit for instance was saved with at least two octaves of too high pitch on the snare and kick; 5) this is a problem with some of the other UVI synth libraries too - Arturia also used to suffer from this (but they've fixed it since)

Where did you get the demo from?
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I didn't get the demo because there's no demo.)
I bought the BA2 on sale.

Ahhh, thought so (I also bought in sale! I think I still would have had there been a demo)

I'm annoyed with the save options but hope they will fix it. As far as processing goes, you can process with dedicated effect plugins. Some sounds may be less usable, but there are a lot to choose from. Don't like a sound? Don't use it :).
I quite like the sequencer and the layering.

All in all for the entrance price, a nice package though it doesn't feel completely finished. Certainly save and import issues should be resolved and a midi out would be nice too.

I bought the upgrade and I think it's a big improvement to have the sequencer.
However, I have one small complaint. This applies to version one as well. They have the Alesis SR-16 represented, but they only have some of the sounds the machine contains. I was trying to find the famous Stab Kick sound in BBA2, but it's nowhere to be found. I cannot understand why UVI chose to omit many of the sounds. It would have added a negligible amount to the 2 GB installer. Laziness?

Post

Just because of the shortages mentioned above, I decided to skip the BA2, looking forward to better job by UVI for the BA3.

Another problen: does anybody know how to achieve a hihat open/hihat closed exclusivity?
Mac Studio M2 Ultra, Sonoma, Logic X, Orion 32+, mioXL, V-Synth XT, JD-990, MC-909, OB-X8, NINA, KK61 mkII

Could this be because of "copyright" issues (EPROM?)? Like you said, it was a problem in BBA1 as well. There were at least a couple of kits, that didn't have the "expected" sounds. Makes me wonder if the weird pitch thing was related to this as well...

Also, on UVI's site, they clearly state this: All sounds in BeatBox Anthology 2 are original creations of the UVI sound design team.

just came here to post the same thing. can't believe there's no "choke" grouping. i always disliked that about the other UVI "drum machines" inside 'Darklight IIx', 'Emulation I/II', 'The Beast', etc... really surprised to see that they didn't add it here.

all of these (and BBA 2, especially) really should be updated to allow for choke grouping (at least on the hi-hats).

I think that they are just reinforcing the fact that they did not steal the samples from some other library. They also say on that page that they serviced each machine and then "deeply sampled and processed them with the highest quality equipment available, including premium DI boxes, hardware processors and ADCs."

I guess it's possible that there are copyright issues involved, but then it seems weird that they could include any of the sounds at all.

I think it's a shame. We can't use one of the most iconic sounds.
Now how can I be sure that other samples are not damaged? :(

Did you contact support with the problem?

I am assuming that the only way to get midi out of this is by dragging and dropping the created midi part, is this correct? In other words, I would love to be able to use it as a sequencer (in real time) for other drum plugins, but I assume that you cannot do that.
Nop. Only MIDI export by drag n drop.
I have to say, I can't get why the drum machine developers can't ALWAYS make shure that the following minumum, basic feature are fullfilled:
- midi/sample output, d&d if possible
- midi/sample input, d&d if possible
- GM midi compatibility OR inbuilt GM converter
- pattern and sound banks, generic

Most of the developers invest in sequencer, but if I have already 5000+ collection of midi grooves and fills in different genres, why should I always invent the wheel again when I could import my GM pattern and do the possible edits on that?
Sequencers are good but for me its mainly for refining the pattern.

ON TOP of the above fundaments the developer can create all kind of fancy features, but for me those are the drum machine minimum basics.
For some reason for many (most?) developers this seems to be hard to understand, including Fxpansion, Arturia and UVI. :dog:
