Cubase not pasting on cursor? (timestretched loops)

Alright, noob question here. I am using Cubase Elements 9.

So this is the first time I used timestretched audio loops. I usually only use midi tracks and my own recorded audio tracks.

So I imported a loop and timestretched it to match my project. However, if I copy this imported event and paste it, it doesn't paste on the cursor, but several seconds before the cursor (not a round bar).

I tried bouncing the timestretched loop but the same thing occur.

It doesn't happen on my MIDI tracks or my own recorded audio on the same project. It doesn't happen when I copy my own recorded audio to that drum track. It DOES happen when I copy that drum loop to another track.

Can somebody tell me what did I do wrong? Is there a setting somewhere that controls this behaviour?

First I think of is timebase set on source track and destination track.

Just change it on either and see if different. It's a clock or note symbol on track to click on.

And turn off snap to grid - thinking that the loop with many parts snap each one of them or something.

Just a few ideas....

There's no such buttons in the inspector... it seems to be omitted from elements. dammit steinberg.

Alright I could get around this by bouncing the event, then reimport that bounced audio into a new track. But I am still curious about why it happens in the first place though.

Open the audio editor by double clicking the audio part. Look for the Start Position marker, a vertical blue line with an S in the middle. Slide it to where you want it to paste, beginning if it suits. Close the editor and paste it as usual. Work?

IIRC, there's a key command, may be unassigned by default, to move the start position to the beginning of a clip.

THAT'S IT!

Seems I dragged that line by accident. The issue disappear once it's back to the beginning, thank you very much :D

Or the time stretch moved it, possibly.

right, that's possible too. Will keep that in mind the next time I use loops. Still learning on how to use these.
