Feature requests:

1 - Modulator trigger option: Note-off ( Started a cool new preset, but something I want to happen needs be triggered after a note is released ).
2 - Any waveform component: animation of waveform modulations, like the wavetable component does now. I would really like to see the effect of what I'm doing in e.g. the basic waveform component.
3 - The wavetable component only animates when I press play in my DAW, not when playing a few notes.
4 - Add mod for parametric EQ?

Bugs (1.07):
- Set comments are gone when saving changes to a preset or when reloading Fathom.
- Mousewheel in the browser view only works when hovering above folder or type.

Cheers,

Rob

Which filter is doing that?

Scrubbing: Thanks for your comments!

RPH: Modulator trigger just on note off: Try envelope with note on and note off with either mod type multiply and note on set constant to one, or mod type add set constant to zero, that should work, if not let me know. I will make it so note off bar can start at first segment. In the future the envelope will have three stages, attack stage, loop stage, and note off stage, all with unlimited segments.

Waveform graph animation for all modulations is planned, I will try to move that up the list.

Wave table animation for midi only notes, I thought that worked, I will retest it and fix.

Bug: “Set comments” You mean the comment column in the program browser? Ok, that’s easy to fix, next release.

Mouse wheel in browser, I never planned on the mouse wheel being used in the folders view, but I will take a look at that.

DH: Filter sound goes silent: That’s a bad bug. I will fix for next release, but, yes, which filter? Please email me a save of the preset with the filter that it happens for, that will help.

Thanks for the reply, will test your suggestion for note-off with envelope.

To be sure:
See screenshot, red box shows the current area where the scroll wheel can be used. It would be nice if it's usable in the whole view.

Finding my way around the mono version I notice the filter cutoff only goes to 100 hz. Is there anyway to bet to 0 or 20hz maybe.

Fantastic job.

Making my way through the 29 pages of posts. I see this has been brought up and being addressed. Also found that Velocity was also being worked on. Actually the volume already responds quite nicely to velocity. It would be nice to turn it off on occasion.

It would be nice for new / potential users to read what has been requested so far.
Maybe update the first post with the list?

I do keep a master list of every feature request ever made.
I would be more inclined to post it on the web site instead of here because it's quite long.

The big thing for 108 is host parameter automation since so many people have asked for it.
But there will also be a lot of other fixes and features in the next release 108 (listed below).

Here's basically my logic for fix priorities:

1) Any crash or anything preventing the plugin from running halts all other development and gets fixed immediately.
2) Anything impacting audio quality always comes before features for convenience.
3) If a lot of people ask for the same thing it gets put at the very top (such as host automation).
4) If something is easy and takes essentially no time I just do it right away.
5) Sometimes multiple features wait one release if they must be done together.
6) In rare cases I will add something no one has asked for, if I know people really want it
but don't realize they want it yet (such as a smoother more analog noise distortion algorithm in 108).

1.0.8 Will include (at the very least):

Fix for bug filter goes silent.
Full parameter automation from the host.
Host modulated toggle controls.
Oscillator and filter graph real-time updates for host automation.
Drag and drop waveform and WAV files into the oscillator and wavedraw graphs.
Reduced GUI memory foot print from 1.1 GB to 275 MB.
Wave table graph animation for midi only notes.
Prevent browser comment column from being cleared incorrectly.
Mouse wheel in browser effective on all columns.
Fix wave table file button defaulting to wrong folder.
Mouse wheel increment preview through waveforms and WAV's.
Improved noise distortion dial algorithm.

If you don't see something above, rest assured it is in the master list.

Guess i have a crash report to do.

Just tried the mono version on my reaper 64bit( sounds great!) but it consistently crashes when trying to record midi to a second instance of fathom, that might be because of my limited cpu and memory(core5 4gb mem) but it works fine to play live on the second instance alongside the first, it's not until it starts recording that reaper crashes.

Post

OK, There's been a few problems in Reaper.
I will download Reaper and test your scenario.

I got a chance to spend some time with the poly 1.0.7 last night. Here are some findings and thoughts.

Ill skip all the praise other than to say I am very excited for you. This is a fantastic product. A glimpse at the future.

Features I found myself wanting.

The ability to save module state. IE Sequencer, complicated envelope chains, distortion and delay settings. Some of these are presets in themselves.

A play cursor for sequencer and envelopes. Some times when you have many of these going at once its nice to see where you are for fine tweaking.

Some kind of identifier on the key tracking UI. Note number 0, 30,63,90 127 for example.

Some way to modulate ADSR segments. This may be there just invisible to me. With velocity coming it would nice to tie it to the decay segment for example.

Two issues I ran into

When working with envelopes I had set up a typical 3 segment with a soft release. I found that I wanted to add another segment. When I clicked on the segment number knob I inadvertently made it go backwards (reducing the number of segments) this truncated my release curve. Also would be nice to have been able to add those segments prior to my release. 9 times out of 10 I would always want to add them in the middle.

Working in Reaper 5.4 64 bit win 7. I had two tracks of Fathom poly. One using the Wavetable demo program and a second that I had started a new patch with two oscillators. I froze the first track to reduce cpu. When I came back to the second the first of my two parallel OSCs had no sound. I couldn't get it back. I did delete osc and re-added (loosing all modulation associated) and it came back. I was not able to try and reproduce. I will try this eve and see if I can reproduce this.

I created a very inspirational preset last evening that I would like to share. I will post it in uploads for fathom as well as try and put up a sound cloud clip.

Keep up the good work.

A quick chord progression using only one wavetable OSC. This thing is amazing.

Disregard my comment above concerning the segment number of the ADSR envelope. After spending more time with it, I understand which point to click on to tell where to add the segments. ADSR is a name to give it but it is far more powerful than that. Have to rethink my own understanding of how to creatively use this modulator.

SM, I love that song. It sounds like a really good use of the synth.
I'd like to put it on the web site, if that's ok with you.

There were some important feature requests on this page,
I'll make a more detailed response tomorrow.

I had the same problem with the wavetable osc as scrubbing monkeys on the fathom pro, it had no sound when i added it so i hadn't done anything to it, i just removed and re added it and then it worked. By the way was working on a patch when i saw SM's post, eriely similar but his was better
