FathomSynth wrote:SM, I love that song. It sounds like a really good use of the synth.
I'd like to put it on the web site, if that's ok with you.
Thanks, absolutely.

Do I need to send you a wav or do you link to SC?
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

i'd like if all or most of the routing were able to patch on the patching screen instead of menu diving in the modulation matrix. It would be cool if the graphical patch view was more like Puredata, zoomable with the mouse wheel, create modules from a right click menu is good.

DAWs have automation hooks for parameters, I would like to use that on any parameter. (Reaper)

I would have tested it more thoroughly but it needs to be studied more than I did yet.

SM, Yes send me a WAV file of the song and the link to your sound cloud page.
On the web site there will be an audio of the song and a link to your sc page.

I'm planning on starting an Artist page on the web site of songs made with Fathom
and links to Artist's work.

If any one would like to have their work featured on the web site please post here.
A short initial song must be all Fathom, but it will link to your other stuff made with other synths.

I'm doing a read through now of the last few pages for feature plans,
and tonight I will post the planned feature list here.

The release of 1.0.8 is planned for this coming Saturday.
Host parameter automation is a huge feature so it will require a lot of testing.
I'm also working on the Reaper bug and Filter audio bug.

I just read through all 30 pages here to make sure all user features are accounted for.

The web site now has the master user feature list more or less prioritized.
https://www.fathomsynth.com/plan/

From now on this list will be kept up to date every day.
I welcome some +N voting here to change the relative priorities.

Sound designers and artists, reminder, please send in your work to be featured on the web site.

I didn't see Easier Authorization for Updates listed.

Sorry, I did not realize that was still an issue.
You use your password to unzip the version update zip files.
What did you have in mind that would be easier?

Bugs Update (Everything works for me in Reaper)

Bug 1

Filters go silent. (Distorted Horizon)

Status: This is most likely caused by FM oscillator cycle going out of range and loading an illegal float into the filter which currently there is no protection against. Because filters are based on shift registers one bad value will crash the filter. In 108 I will add catch code to prevent a bad value from going in the filter. And also code in the oscillator to check if the cycle is ever out of bounds.

When 108 comes out see if it fixes the problem.

Question which filter was it?

Bug 2

Reaper crashes when recording midi to second Fathom instance. (d34dmeat)

Status: I just tried it and it works fine. This is most likely caused by you having 4 GB of RAM and the Fathom GUI taking 1 GB. Relese 108 will reduce this to 275 MB per instance which will help.

Also try the following and report to me: Save the project, close Reaper, open again Reaper but do not open any Fathom GUI. This will eliminate the Fathom GUI memory as an issue. Try recording again to the second track of Fathom and see if it still crashes.

Bug 3

Reaper oscillator on second track has no sound after freezing first track (SM)

Status: Again, can not reproduce. I did this on Reaper with no problems.

I think these Reaper issues are resource relaged. 108 will reduce memory requirements a lot so we will have to wait for that release and see if it helps.

The only other option is for you to send me your Reaper project files to see if that helps me recreate the problem on my system.

Bug 4

Babbgr are you still experiencing distortion on the Analog Saw oscillator around partials 17 and 18? What host are you running? Have you tried it with version 107.

It's talked about somewhere in the thread, but what about the Mac version?
Just a head up for the anxious ones?
Anyway, really looking forward for this.

Some sort of built-in recognition such as serial.

What about a cutoff spread on the unison?

Like a serial number encrypted file, ah, I see what you're saying.
OK, I will put that back on the list.
I will have to think about that.

I was thinking around the end of the summer after Fathom has the
MAC OSX Release, SIMD Vectorized Audio, the Arpeggiator and better Analog Distortion,
under it's belt, that the synth will be more realistic competition to synths like
SM One, Dune, Rapid, Diva, Serum and Avenger.

At that time I was thinking of switching to a more fool proof third party validation system.
Although I am personally really against the hardware thumbdrive thing.

I have not forgotten about the Mac OSX people.
I just need to figure out where to fit that in because it will mean
about two weeks with no other features added.

I was just trying to think of a way to update without having to search for my unzip password.
Maybe a user area that you log in to that contains unzip password instead of serial.

My evil twin XGmode has been banished from KVRaudio, you can remove that nick from the list. It's just RPH now. :tu:

Seems like all lowpasses have some issues when adding resonance and sweeping the filter but especially Massberg has issues.
