I make music in FL Studio right now as a hobby, and I try to recreate/remix my favorite trance songs. Recently I came across this great tune, and for the life of me I cannot figure out what key it is in, what chords are being used, and I am getting really frustrated. Maybe there is a kind soul out there who can help. I am a novice in music theory and would really appreciate some help.
Need help figuring Key Signature

Why do you need chords or a key to 'recreate' it. After > 1 minute I needle dropped into a few more spots but it doesn't seem that (a lot) more than a drone A & a minor third (plus 8ve or 2) has happened.aquatrance wrote:- for the life of me I cannot figure out what key it is in, what chords are being used, ...
If you're going worry about chords & key, maybe locate it in music where that is a real concern.

thanks, I thought it was Am too, but not sure about chord progression.
I am trying to perform this song live, as a jamming session. I set up my DAW is an orchestra fashion, playing stringed pads for the main chord, and adding drums, bass, and guitar to it.
I started with the following pad:
E6, D6, A5, G5, E5
and it seems to sorta sound alike, but not quite the same.
Any suggestions anyone?

Cool track - thanks for sharing! The panties are a nice touch, too
My PC is hooked up to my TV and the sound isn't great, so I couldn't pick up on it either. I'll try again with my cans in a little while.

It seems that it largely just stays on Am.
there's only 1 chord sequence around 3:45
Am F Dm G
