I hope they resolved the Edirol pricing issue by that time.
I can see a whole bunch of European users not upgrading before that happens.
I'd love to be able to do surround-processing, it would make Sonar a mature post-production editor.
But not if it will cost as much as a new purchase.

Damn...this is exciting stuff. I can't wait. The link doesn't work and there is nothing on CW's site so I think this was a slip...which kind of sucks because that mean's I'll be anxious to get the new version that much longer :)
I'm glad the c major scale was invented before copyright law

I think the above link is still being finalized by Cakewalk marketing, since nothing has been "officially" announced, although there is now a cryptic blurb on the Cake main page: "Let Go And Flow" "09.01.04"

Could be a reference to the big announcement....S4 Pro :?:

I guess we will know for sure, on Wednesday

yep, that will be the big test to see if our recent 'campaign' had any impact....

btw, I noticed when edirol finally started selling the sonitus bundle the pricing was actually about the same as the US pricing (allowing for import duty and vat), so hopefully that's a good sign for future upgrade pricing

They will probably wait until September 1st to formally swap out the S3 page to coincide with the unveiling of the new S4 Pro "official" announcement.

Awesome news!!

Wow, that's cool.

I hope they fixed the broken MFX support. It was working fine until they broke it in (IIRC) the 3.1.1 patch. It resulted in their own MIDI effect plugins breaking, like quantize etc. It also affected other MFX plugins, like Rhythm 'n 'Chords, etc. Supposedly they would have a patch for Sonar 3 after they release Sonar 4 for us poor souls.

Anyway, I wonder how much the upgrade would be from Sonar 3.1.1 Producer to Sonar 4.0 Producer. Time will tell...

Deeo inside I have this strong desire for sonar to become something I like... it's so close to my style.. but soooo flakey in my experience :( Not even usable in all the times Ive tried.

I guess I hear too much. S4 will be out shortly.

First off, I love Sonar, but......

Does anyone else find this a little SOON for a new version. I mean God damn, I just spent a good bit of money not too long ago on the upgrade from 2 to 3 (which for what it's worth was totally worth it!).

There had better be some f**king amazing features to nab another couple (or few?) hundy from me!

does seem quite fast, but then what do i know.... they'll have to wait a little while for money off me as the last upgrade (while top) wasn't cheap.

cool to see what they come out with though...

cheers,

steve.
