sunrizer (vst)

Post

Can you explain why, on the paper the sunrizer seems to be "good/ok" for 50 bucks. Do u have a similliar synth who can do the things?

Synthmaster.

Just cannot work with that GUI...

Polysnth (came with Bitwig...)

The only other synth i'm aware of which emulates the JP-8000/8080 is Adam Szabo's JP-6k. I don't know if Sunrizer is a strict emulation though, i doubt it. I always wanted to demo it, but never actually did. I don't feel the need when i already have Spire, Sylenth1, Z3TA, and others, which basically do the same thing. Don't sound exactly the same of course, but, i don't know if the JP-8k is actually such a special synth that it would make much of a difference. Sure sounds nice judging from sound demos, but, i guess i'm ok with what i have.

for me it was NI massive
chill before you all start typing with your angry face "how dare he talk about NI Massive" to which i would say why the f@#$ should i keep it ??
1).limited wavetables (personally i didnt use wavetable function but still limited waveforms and lack to display it is still an issue)
2).the type of filters are limited when compared to Mpowersynth
3).CPU efficiency is also an issue for massive .i was able to open only 15 instances on single slave whereas for Mpowersynth it was around 27 on each slave(same sound/same preset type)
4).are you able to draw your own wabetable without modifying the internal files ??
5).and the clean sound of mpowersynth and changeable upsampling option is also a major factor
6.)the no effects are damm less when compared to mpowersynths modular effect rack with crossover for applying diffrent effects in diffrent region

cons
1)i still like to have the wavetable function(like serum in which any sample can bes used) in it which is possible still now but it is quite a long process for 128 waveforms but i only have to morph between 2 waveforms so its easy (i accept it is still a problem in oscillator section but i can deal with it as it can load serum wave tables)

P.S. i still love NI.specially for its kontakt and orchestral and piano sample bundles but yeah i regret buying Massive when i found out mpowersynth
REAPER, Phase Plant , Unfiltered Audio TRIAD and LION, NI classic collection,......... ETC

Tangle and Mangle.. Abandonware.

SynthMaster. Basically I find the GUI atrocious.

And Serum, I thought it was sterile and cold.

That, and, seriously, i hardly ever played with a synth which sounded more bland, thin, and uninspiring to me. Same holds true for SM One. Sorry, just my opinion, i very well know that others disagree.

I've tried Sunrizer in multiple DAW's and i find it very unstable. Dropping notes, morph (modwheel) glitches, loud peaks in the sound, crashes during live performance, crashes during rendering/bouncing..
I have the iPad version as well and i love that one. I thought i'd buy the vst version for easier use in my main set-up. Too bad it isn't being updated anymore (last update is from mid 2015...).

I like the sound and the options, but it is too buggy on my 2 systems. Friend of mine has bought it as well, but he's suffering with the same buggy stuff..a shame, if you ask me.

strange & funny, there are still commercials for sunrizer

I would never consider TheMangle to be abandonware because it is incredibly good just the way it is. Perhaps this is because I come from the era when you bought something because of what it was, and never expected any upgrades, who knows?

But I do deplore the money I invested in Alchemy because it went Mac alone, Phonem because I don't use it and cannot sell it, and a few kontakt instruments like Alicia's Keys and some Scarbee stuff.

Good points about Sunrizer. I hadn't thought of that one, but yeah I have that one and don't use it either. Once in a blue moon I guess, but rarely. For me, the problem is that Sunrizer gets out of sync with the host when doing arps, which is mainly what I purchased it for in the first place. I've tried everything to get it to sync up and it's a no-go on my setup. So I agree, unstable and therefore unusable.
