Only 8 posts in the Kvr history, and so many negative ones. Any relation to the PA?
HarryHH, are you perhaps confusing my posts in this thread with kmonkeys? Strange to hear someone finds my posts angry on the basis of this thread. And as for the amount of posts, and take this with a pinch of humor, is there a certain limit before one can come off as angry on KVR? :)

As for my relation to Plugin Alliance, I am a long time customer, and hope to continue as one since I love their plugins. But I also care a lot about customer rights. Even though I did not receive an email from them stating I should pay up for VAT, I do care about how the companies I keep on supporting act towards their customers. Surely we agree on that?

And (again, take this with a  ), who was it a few posts earlier calling for a boycott?
:) I hope PA does right by their customers, and deals with this VAT problem in another way. As stated many times in the above posts, it should not be their customers to take the blame, should it?

PS: After my 10th post, I will rain fire and brimstone upon you all.

Ohh, but that is nothing new in KVR. It happens on a daily basis :hihi:

Damn! (Puts fire and brimstone back in the box)

If PA can't pay the VAT themselves because it's personal VAT debt, then how can they send people PayPal 'Orders' that must be paid, so they can pay the VAT. Doesn't make sense.

They need to swallow the debt themselves and stop messing about.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

If they're really determined to recuperate the loss then they'll probably just raise the prices. Eventually they'll get it back, I think.

Has anyone else actually received this email? I haven't...

Do you live in the U.S.? If so, then you don't owe any VAT and you won't get an email.

The OP got the email and so did VariKusBrainz: viewtopic.php?p=6819210#p6819210

I've received this email. Thought my large order was good value - but really this strikes me as being a little cheeky. As some of you have mentioned you wouldn't expect to be retrospectively charged by a shop on any product you purchased. However, they can argue that once we entered the payment we were expecting the VAT amount added on so effectively we were charged 20% less than we agreed to. It was only once the payment went through I noticed the missing tax.

They should at the very least offer a voucher for the VAT amount out of goodwill.

Could be also that the VAT was shown in the cart but did not go through in the payment process, and the buying customers could not even expect something was not right. As a business, they need to take care that the systems they use work properly. This is in the interest of their customers as well. I'd hope to see PA explain their reasoning for charging their customers afterwards for VAT because of technical problems they encountered. How can customers rely on their system working in the future as intended?

Post

Easy to deal with. Just let your tax guy or lady handle this, and forward their bill to Plugin Alliance.
Confucamus.

I didn´t notice the missing VAT and now after two and a half months (!!) they tell me I still owe them $23.

... and I think I need to start saving The Plugin Alliance Residual VAT Fund for future issues lol..

Yeah, I'm in the UK. But I just checked - I didn't actually spend any cash with them in April. :dog: Used a $75 voucher...
