5 years and I've still not decided on a producer name, any suggestions?

HREQ needs a lot of help. After we find a name for him, we can help him find a genre.
three years and I still don't know what genre to produce, how the heck do you guys choose?

You have to mashup genres to get the kid's attention these days. Most of the obvious stuff has been done, but, I think that there's still room for innovation.Frantz wrote:HREQ needs a lot of help. After we find a name for him, we can help him find a genre.![]()

HammerGabberTrance: you put on parachute pants and dance like MC Hammer to trance sped up to gabber speeds but using only sounds and samples from 90s trance and new jack swing but fed through really harsh distortion.
Old-G: A mixture of time and terminology old-g combines the elements of old school rap with music that your grandmother likes. Definitely sample based with the authentic stuff using only samples from old episodes of the Lawrence Welk show.
IndifferentHardCore: Blends the tempos and synth sounds of happy hardcore with the vocals and guitar sounds of emo rock. Stops short of being too depressing though. Listening to it should feel like watching an art house film about paint drying, only very quickly.
NoTrance: Uses the sounds and tempos of trance music to create music that has absolutely no chance of putting anyone into a trance. Four on the floor is off the menu here. Must be epic and have huge chaotic builds. Really, if you get that right, you're kind of done. Imagine trance builds with a Shepard tone like quality to them.

This is very accurate description of what is called "trance" today.ghettosynth wrote: music that has absolutely no chance of putting anyone into a trance.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

LL Cool J already did this in 1987 with his single "I Need Love." Although the video adds crowd footage and spoken parts to add "excitement" missing from the original track.ghettosynth wrote: Old-G: A mixture of time and terminology old-g combines the elements of old school rap with music that your grandmother likes. Oh, that's WAY too hip, that's stuff your mom likes, and that crowd, that will never do! Old-G is going to work stuff like ol Dizzy Fingers into the mix...
Your grandma's going to love this. Also, to elaborate a bit, the raps must include clever double entendre that grandma won't get but loves because it reminds her of the olden days.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?
