It's actually quite good.
The ability to choose skins is nice to have (and it seems one of the biggest drawbacks for people was the GUI), but it's the sound that gets me. It's got some weight to it, much like DIVA and ACE, but perhaps not quite as polished sound wise. Probably why I like it!
I think I saw something about it being on a 50% off sale again, but this time for the 1.31 release...
Just checked and yep half price at http://www.admiralquality.com

I wouldn't pay more than 40$ bucks for this.

@ftech Thank you! "Less polish" doesn't make me want to have it, hehe. A "less polished analog" sound makes me think of "retro but unpolished", so perhaps something like synthwave and the unpolished digital sound of the 80's.

Speaking of which, perhaps you'll love this! Sample Foundry has two absolutely insane Spire preset banks for Synthwave (which seems to be up your alley based on your soundcloud). They make me grin from ear to ear. Listen:

267 very high quality and inspiring sounds in total:

I really like it (especially for the price!), the 'less polished' for me is a 'sounds realistically vintage with the voltages just managing to crack through the circuits'. I have all the u-he synths and this compliments them nicely by being another nice analog-y keyboard emulator - like comparing a Juno 60 to a Jupiter 8, they're both ace analogue synths but both sound very different

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Ah thank you! And the skin support is a good thing because the default was a mess. I will check this out after all. :)

I'll be curious to hear what others think about the new anti-aliasing. I know the AA it had before was a point of displeasure for some.
A well-behaved signature.

Much better phrased than my reply!
Yep, it's definitely an 'also' rather than an 'instead of' type of synth for me. I see it as my Realistic MG-1 compared to my DSI Mopho SE...one is raucous and slightly unstable whilst the other is a bit more refined and controlled

Tried this out for an hour last night.

Sounds very nice. A more raw, unruly, or "unpolished" sound as mentioned above.

GUI is terrible. Hard to look at due to the 3Dish quality and the flickering yellow help boxes are truly horrendous. Honestly, it's the ugliest looking vst synth I've ever used.

Could use some new features like step sequencers and effects.

Probably decent value at the current 70% discounted price, but not worth more than that.

Please update the GUI. There are new skins, but why should the default be so ugly forcing users to change the look right away? Why not just make it look nicer to begin with?

I think you just answered that question in the positive :o . How about a resizable interface? Even using the new skins, it is still hard for me to read and get what is going on.
