I agree whole-heartedly.Mo Verdigast wrote:Sonar 3 (with help from Project 5 and Kinetic). Why? Because it is ultra stable and lets me tweak and draw all day. There's nothing that this puppy can't do. And it also helps that not only is the documentation adequate, but there are several books (at least 4) that can hold my hand. But the stability and robustness really makes me stay with Sonar.

blah... logic pro 6 does it for me. i can generally open the program, and if i have a little bit of an idea in my head, have a song whipped out by dinner time
never used cubase SX or sonar 3... sonar 2XL was an absolute joke, but i'm sure everyone acknowledges that. haven't used Live 4 either, but i've read everything there is to read and i'm sure it's rock solid. still, for me, on a mac, logic pro is where it's at.... and for $500 apple store educational discount, i have absolutely nothing to complain about.

I use cubase SX and digital performer.
I personally like to use cubase, so? I know
it inside out.
I don't think it's the best sequencer in the world
but it's the most comfortable sequencer for me.
( I can do just about anything with Cubase SX)
Logic and sonar, they both have similar functions.
if I take some time and really dig those program
I might use other sequencers.
but most of sequencers are expensive and
It takes some time to learn.
I don't want to waste my time and money because
somebody says seq A is good and other says
seq B is better than C.
just choose one of any sequencer and learn it
inside out. then you have your favorite sequencer.
they are all same.it's a
tool you are using to make music, not a tool
makes music for you.

Tractkion www.rawmaterialsoftware.com (for personal music.. just got back into it again, along with making music on my own)
SAWStudio www.sawstudio.com (for work)
And I use samp/seq on occasion as well... but rarely.
Getting into energyXT a bit as well... but tracktion makes it a bit redundant... since im an audio guy, tracktion fits a bit better than XT which is more midi oriented.
As I learn, Ill probabaly put them together.. most likely useing Xt as an instrument rather than a host.

Voted for Logic because of the streamlined way of working (once you know it that is).
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
