I didn't really think so either, sorry if I got a bit defensive :)

The plugin in question is also only used on the pad tracks to simulate side chain pump and those pads ended up pretty far back in my final mix...
doctorbob wrote: I use Pecheneg Tremolo a lot of the time for my OSC's. Never had a complaint from BJ! It is only volume automation in the end. You just get great control over the waveform applied to the automation which is why I used it in preference to the tremolo in LotS (sorry Taron!).

Interestingly, a tremolo effect can sometimes fool the ears into thinking it's a vibrato effect!

Pecheneg is possibly the best available tremolo unless you want specific emulations!

Architeuthis wrote: Mehum, I love the track. It sounds like you were mindful of your parameter settings. The sliders have a huge range because there are certain settings that work when some parameters are in the extreme range and others are conservatively set, so you have to resist the urge to just crank everything up.

Cool risers, and quirky melodies, good clear mix.
Thanks a lot!

I really like that approach, where parameters are not limited to safe spaces. It's been great fun exploring the possibilities of this synth, finding the sweet spots in how parameters react to each other. It felt really unintuitive at first but after a while I felt like I could predict the effect any given parameter would give to my sound.

Some polish would be appreciated, envelope behaviour and automation issues comes to mind, but in the end I didn't really mind.

Have you checked out MeldaProduction MTremolo already? To be honest I've not used Pecheng, yet but I like the extrem versatile MTremolo, see https://www.meldaproduction.com/MTremolo. The modulator could be as usual with Melda Stuff the standard waveforms, even in harmonics mode, step sequencer, etc. pp. (Sorry, I'm a Melda Fan boy, but you can be sure that I don't get money from him for refering to his plug-ins all the time ;-)

I have the Melda suite installed back since the MPowerSynth OSC a year or so back but I actually haven't really checked it out. Looking at it now, it looks really powerful, as expected! The thing with Pecheneg is that it covers the 90% of use cases in a very accessible package. Melda plugins are always a bit more intimidating... Certainly room for both in any producer's tool box!

Just an idea...

Will it be against the rules to make a sample of Spiral Generator sound and use it in a free sampler for polyphony? Could use it for pads or piano...

What do you think?

Sorry, sampling is not allowed...

...I would like to add polyphony as soon as CPU usage is tackled.

Thanks! No problem, I might just use a few instances of SG for a harmony.

That would be great. My FL Studio 11 shows 8% CPU load no matter when playing one or three instances (i5 with 32GB RAM).

To me it sounds slightly out of tune for some reason in places .. but I like the horns, they really sing especially at higher registers. I am finding brass is something SG does well.

Tuning is probably an issue - I need to check I haven't nudged a parameter somewhere, or the LFO/ENV mod on pitch is causing issues. I'm also modulating phase as well, which could also have an impact.

All very rough, but you can get it to sing quite well. Haven't been able to emulate keyboard styled instruments though - pianos/bells/clavs etc ... maybe someone will get there ...

Architeuthis wrote:- fixed legato glide mode (moved the handling of the pitch glide on/off to the per-sample thread instead of the midi thread. not sure why it wasn't working in the midi thread.)

- added linux version (let me know if it works)

(didn't realize version number was only changing on windows, will fix for next version)

On my Mac I'm getting this error
“Spiral Generator 2.mpkg” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
I looked inside the package eventually found it.

jees, why does that happen. Will have to do something different.

Here's what I'm working on thus far. No automation and 12 instances so far. Thoughts?
