Autosampler in Mainstage 3

Hi,

I was happy when I found out that Mainstage 3 has resurrected Radmatica's Autosampler.

I had used it some years back and sampled all patches of a MIDI instrument into EXS24 patches. At that time, I'd set it up so that it would send program/bank change messages to he MIDI instrument and march on sampling all patches unattended. That was nice - start the process and walk away - in time, all work is
done.

Did anyone use this feature in the original Autosampler? With the Autosampler in Mainstage, I am struggling to find that feature - unless it is well hidden

If the feature is absent, any ideas on how to do it?

I am not a MainStage user, but from what I've read over the years it sounds like the Auto Sampler plugin in MainStage is seriously de-featured compared to the Redmatica version- so I wouldn't be surprised if it's simply not possible in the current incarnation.

I use Skylife SampleRobot, which definitely does what you're looking for (auto-sample multiple patches with program changes). I am a Windows user, but SampleRobot is available for Mac OS (via Wine).

Hmm... there is a less-expensive competitor to SampleRobot which has mostly the same featureset but I cannot remember what it was called.

No, the one I was thinking of was Extreme Sample Converter: http://www.extranslator.com/

Turns out to be Windows only, though. Never tried it personally. I was between that and SampleRobot when I was looking for a solution and ended up going with SR.

EDIT: Specifically I was thinking of the "Hardware Converter" feature of Extreme Sample Converter, but after looking at the documentation I don't think it sends program changes. SampleRobot does have the edge on features... probably why I went that route.

Well yeah, but it makes no sense unless they plan to add the advanced version and it's taking longer (maybe next version?)

It is a fast and nice program, but it still crashes sometimes on OS X 10.11.6 here. I reported some things about sound cards and many I/Os - but the bug is still present. When it works it is fast to operate, not so fiddly like the Redmatica stuff - which I still use from time to time too.
