GUYS!
All you Impulse tracker ex people, Check this plugin out! We should donate money to him. Please lets all check it out! I might just use this instead of the midi editor if it works alright.

Hey, This looks cool but like alot of people I'm not too familiar with trackers. How will this improve my Tracktion experience? In other words what can I do with it that I cannot currently do?

Trackers are much more a method of working... a lot of people hate them, but man they ROCK! It's basically a pattern based step sequencer/sampler. You enter note information in something similar to a spreadsheet. They are great for working out beats (and other things as well of course).
As I said, it's just a different mind state... and having the ability to tap into this by way of a VSTi is just awesome. Best of all, this thing (ReViSiT) is a dupe of Impulse Tracker (hands down, my favorite of all time--except renoise... so many fond memories..hahahaha). Wish it had mouse suppor tho...

Wow, this is pretty cool. I was a 'tracker' back in the day. I Started with MOD files in MS-DOS, moving through to Composer 669, ScreamTracker3 and Impulse Tracker. A track I did in Impulse Tracker even ended up in id Softwares game QUAKE II soundtrack (Track 10, "Climb")...
To me it has always seemed to be an insanely difficult thing to try and cross a tracker with your run-of-the-mill sequencer or multitrack recording host. This is a very cool thing.
Ultimately what I'd like to see is the ability to import a tracker file in to a Tracktion project, retaining the samples properties. I guess that hardest thing about that is that most Trackers were simply just sample triggers - there was no 'note-on' and 'note-off'. I'd imagine that is the biggest hurdle in converting tracker data in to a MIDI-friendly format is knowing when the note becomes 'off'. Some tricky code in analyzing the appropriate sample rate at a given pitch could figure that out though...
Blag. Still insane. They are two very different worlds, and I've always seen myself very neutral to both. I still fight urges to this day to do simple drum sequencing outside a tracker... If you know how both things work you've got to be impressed at something like this.
Has anyone ever seen anything comparable to 'REVISIT' before?

it doesn't load VSTs at all. It's a partial imputlse tracker clone... as in DOS days. So you are only gonna deal with samples. It's just the fact that it's the first Tracker that is an acutal VSTi.

Awesome! As much as I want to like piano rolls I work much faster in a tracker! They are a pain to learn but I find them a lot more efficient. I hate twiddling with notes with a mouse.

sorry uh it works from here... I guess maybe it temporarily went down? Anyways, soon youll be able to route the notes through separate midi outs, so says the author. This means... instruments can be sent out through different channels which will be able to be sent through various VSTI! He said this will be realized in the next version.

Hey this is really cool. I used to be a Impulse Tracker freak back through the 90's. Will definetly give this go, and perhaps donate it it suits me well! Cheers!
I became tuned in on the network of neurological signals and cellular wisdoms that radiate hundreds and millions per second.

By the way, i think you have to email him about donations. his email is on the site. I really think we all should chip in- and no im not getting paid to say this. This is like the return of Impulse tracker, in all that it is good, we need to motivate him to code and finish this amazing project!
