Metaplugin v3 is out
https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst- ... x-wrapper/ • A "native" 32-64 bit bridge with seamless plugin window integration (say good-bye to jBridge & Co.)
• A dedicated plugin organizer to have all your plugins in sight all of the time (just drag and drop plugins from there onto the graph area
• Up to 4 times oversampling, without having to reload the current plugins like in v2
• A proper stereo sidechain input
• Support for Apple's native Audio Units that are normally hidden from the file system
while it has been a VST3 host for a while, Metaplugin itself now also comes in VST3 format
$49 + VAT
$19 upgrade v2

How do V2 customers upgrade ?
Haven't seen info about it...

Does it support presets for the additional formats yet? (ie vstpresets for VST3, aupresets for AU, not just fxp/b)

Sounds promising, but I encounter two big problems with the v3 demo (I have a v2 licence).
1/ The "load graph" button is not working...
It has always worked perfectly in v2. The drag and drop method is working though.
2/ Whenever I try to load a 32 bit plugin, Cubase stops working and I need a Ctrl Alt Del to close it. I've tried to scan them using the bridged scan, they appear in the left list as "bridged". When I drag them Cubase freezes. I've tried to load a 32 bit just like it's a 64 bit instead, I've tried to drag and drop a 32 bit directly to the main window, same result, Cubase stops working.
My setup is : Windows Pro 8.1 (64), Cubase Pro 9 (64).
I really love Metaplugin, it's one of the plugins I use the most, but I think I'm going to wait before upgrading. V2 is stable and working perfectly. Too bad there's no way to run the v2 alongside the v3 (which is surprising since you need two different licences btw).

I love Metaplugin too mostly for oversampling work. Version 3 Works fine here on mac

EDIT : I'm talking about the v2 here. I'm having several problems with the v3 so I haven't upgraded yet...
Metaplugin is such a great tool : with one click I can now load my pre-made ducking reverbs and delays, custom multiband compressors, custom multi-tap delays with reverse per-tap and formant control per tap, layered reverbs...
And it's also a quick way to compare different chains of plugins : simply use several instances of Metaplugin and keep only one active.
It's very useful in Cubase when all 8 insert effects slots are used but you need to add effects somewhere between, in the middle of the chain. Metaplugin allows you to have an unlimited number of slots in Cubase.
This plugin is so fantastic !
I wish there was a dry/wet per plugin (is there one in v3 ? I've already rolled back to v2).

All feedback about possible quirks is welcome, of course... To answer the questions posted so far:
- AU and/or VST3 preset file loading still needs to be added
- will check the "load graph" issue... if it's reproducable, it should be a quick fix
- about Cubase freezing: could it be that Windows asked you to make an exception in your firewall settings for Scanslave and/or Bridgeapp? Sometimes those warning windows are being hidden behind other windows. Depending on your security settings, Windows might or might not complain, and those background programs will probably just pause while permission is being requested. Don't worry, there's absolutely nothing fishy going on w.r.t. network traffic, it's just an internal network connection between two ports on your local host.
- There's been a dry/wet for ages: hold shift and use the small rectangles as a dry/wet slider.

That's a pity - is this going to happen? I use Bidule at the moment which does already support these formats very well but there are some things I like about Metaplugin as an alternative and the new bitbridge may be useful but without preset support the ability to load plugins is limited because several AU and VST3 plugins rely entirely on the host to load and save their presets so are useless without this (saving is also needed tbh).docdued wrote:All feedback about possible quirks is welcome, of course... Does the bitbridge work with AU plugins too? (no point in asking about VST3 as I doubt there are any that are not 64 bit but some AUs are - however most of those are older AUs that also require the host to load their presets so you see the problem)

Sorry, that's not that. My firewall indeed asked for a connection, that I approved. Only after this, the plugin appeared as "bridged" in the list (when I didn't approve the connection the plugin simply did not appear in the list). Then I dropped it in the main window, and it froze Cubase, everytime I tried.docdued wrote: - about Cubase freezing: could it be that Windows asked you to make an exception in your firewall settings for Scanslave and/or Bridgeapp? Hi docdued,
I sent out an email to support, but here's what I've encountered so far:
* When I load a bridged 32-bit plugin and move any "filter" boxes (the box widget with rounded corners) around the canvas, the movement is choppy and lags. When I remove the 32-bit bridge plugin, the choppiness and lag go away
* When I right click a "filter" box to expose the context menu and then click anywhere else in the UI to close the menu, the main plugin window for that "filter" box opens up
* In the browser on the left, when I select one or more plugins then remove them, the orange selection highlight remains in view highlighting another plugin(s). I can issue another "Remove selected plugins..." command and it will delete whatever is currently highlighted. I think the expected behavior is for the highlight marker to disappear after removing plugins to avoid accidentally removing things that are meant to remain on the list. This is particularly weird when I select two or more plugins that are right below each other and then remove them: the highlighted area then moves to highlight two or more plugins from the list
