Yeah. Hummm do I book next Friday off to play with it?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Syntronik will be released July 20, 2017 11:30 GMT - Click here for more information and countdown timer is posted on the Syntronik web page.
Sorry for off topic but.... Any ETA on Arc 2.5 and more importantly, for those of us that have ordered the mic, will the mics ship before the software so there is so chance that I have the mic when the software drops?
pps. Annoyed that Amplitude Max can't be bought with gear credits, even though it clearly states in custom shop "Amplitude collections Buy them now with your gear credits".

I don't have a specific ETA on ARC 2.5 and the new mic at this time but I'll ping the team and suggest the mics ship to coincide with the software so you can have them together.rollasoc wrote:Yeah. I have relayed your Gear Credits / MAX bundle concern to the team, for sure. Thanks.
Also, you're welcome (to Kraznet and DarkStar).

You're welcome. New SSD sounds like a great update/upgrade too, hope that performs well for you.rollasoc wrote:Thanks Peter for the swift update. I appreciate it.

Also, we have six days (well technically a bit less than that) left to go before the preorder pricing on Syntronik is no longer available so if you are on the fence, it is getting closer to the point of no return.

I really wanted to love this....but i quickly went sour on it once realizing this is a very half-baked (and rehashed) concept.
This clearly was something thought of before with the Samplemoog....it's been what? 12 years? So invest DSP to model only the synths filter section and a VCO drift algorithm? Then expect users to slap a 50gb footprint on their rig because IK doesn't care to invest more R&D into modeling the oscs?
Is this so they can target the low hanging fruit of plugin users with an attractive bottom line?
I'd gladly pay upwards of $400 for a proper modeling of all these units. But I guess consumers like me are going the way of the tooth fairy....oh well.
And it may be an oversight on my part...but was the question ever answered as to whether or not some of these samples are resurrected from the Samplemoog and Sampletank libraries??
Same envelopes across all synths?

IF they took anything from the Moog then it would be in this list:Bump1 wrote:I really wanted to love this....but i quickly went sour on it once realizing this is a very half-baked (and rehashed) concept.

Fair enough....but why they didn't multi-sample the raw oscillators is beyond me.spacekid wrote:IF they took anything from the Moog then it would be in this list:Bump1 wrote:I really wanted to love this....but i quickly went sour on it once realizing this is a very half-baked (and rehashed) concept.

And then group the DCO-X synth as a JX-3P/8P/10 inspired synth? They are 3 completely different sounding synths.

to my understanding, this is exactly what they did?Bump1 wrote:Fair enough....but why they didn't multi-sample the raw oscillators is beyond me.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

The option to choose a base waveform from the oscillator section isn't there...look at the GUIBurillo wrote:to my understanding, this is exactly what they did?Bump1 wrote:Fair enough....but why they didn't multi-sample the raw oscillators is beyond me.
It's only presets. You can't build a patch from the single cycle waveforms

just because they don't offer control you'd like doesn't mean they didn't "multisample the raw oscillators".

JX8/JX10 are exactly the same hardware at the voice level, modulo voice count, obviously. The JX10 has two of the JX8 voice boards. There may be differences in software that could account for some difference in sound, e.g., eg times, however, they are anything but "completely different sounding."Bump1 wrote: And then group the DCO-X synth as a JX-3P/8P/10 inspired synth? The 3P, of course, has a completely different filter. However, it doesn't matter much with this product because they are all sample based synths and all of the filters are available with all of the interfaces, hence, the grouping is rather pointless anyway.
