Cheverolet has a new campaign pitched to a more "spirited audience" that re-mixes Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride. It is simply unlistenable. I believe the problem (other than crappy cars and an Edge like guitar riff pasted over the original) -I believe the problem is that the sounds (for the radio commercials primarily, as well as the TV)
I think that the music is waaaaaaay over compressed. My ears hurt listening after a few seconds. Is this true? This really is a question about my learning to master and hear music dynamics.
And a chance to bitch about a reaealy annoying commercial.

You can blame radio compressors for that one. Tele does it too. They get it to them too hot, then it gets compressed for broadcast on top of that. If people would stick to RMS levels low enough, it actually sound better through their compressors....

It really is just a wall of noise by the time I get it through my speakers! No dynamics at all. Just loud.
