Do you feel the same? Are you able to spot an artists, simply by his/her sound, without having heard the track yet? It's weird, i wasn't able to spot them, but, it really seems like synthesizers refined my ear.
Scary, scary...

The more i mess with synthesizers, and music production, in general, the better i can guess, who produced the (totally unknown to me) track i hear on internet radio. Here's some artists i can guess 100%, even when i hear the track for the first time: Zero Cult, Solar Fields, Ulrich Schnauss (i usually switch the channel then...
), Frank Arnold. Artists i usually get right, but not 100%: AmBeam, Omauha, Stellardrone, Jonn Serrie, Susperia-Electrica. They all seem to have their own sound kind of, and, when you listen closely, you can really hear that it's them who produced the tracks.

Can't say i'm unhappy about that.

Some artists simply don't change their style and use the same templates over and over. I knew Omahua since 2010 or so when he didn't have any official releases and posted his first tracks under his own name, Vladimir Umanetz, at a small Russian-speaking music forum. He was making music more like uplifting trance then but the melodies and the sounds were absolutely the same he was using arond 2014-2016 (the time when I followed the progressive breaks scene). Frankly i was never a big fan of his works, he releases tons of stuff but without much variety in the melodies and his music mostly sounds empty to me.
Same with Zero Cult, his tracks have the overall vibe which I mostly like but it seems that his music didn't change much over the years.

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

^I think he meant: identifying the artist during the first audition of a tune. So the whole track is not yet heard completely.
