Syntronik 1

In the program files folder, I notice the pak file of Syntronik is five times as large as the pak file of Sample Tank 3.

I guess that is because Syntronik contains a lot more GUIs ?

I think Syntronik free version is a contender for best freeware of the year.

With 50 patches, and 4 layers, that gives the possibility of 5,764,801 (49*49*49*49) different multi-patches :hyper:

I have to agree with that, also combining Sampletank 3 in to that you have damn good freeware.

Ok downloading now........ :hyper:

I must praise IK for making the release date and for providing excellent download speeds. I'm getting between 6.3 and 6.8 MB/s. :tu:

UVI now has torrents for the Vintage Vault libraries. It's quite handy as I can just copy the torrent files over to the NAS (which runs a torrent client) and some time later the downloads are all ready.

Installing all the parts one by one takes some time...would be better if there was an installation routine which installs all the files at once.

Does everything have to be installed at once or can we just install the plugin, install a couple of instruments, have a play, then install the rest of the Instruments later ? :)

There are separate content installers for each of the instruments. J-60 is the smallest.

Yes I see that as I'm downloading them.

actually I got quite fast download speeds when I downloaded all the parts.
Now it's taking ages to open each .dmg file (and verify it) and then extractng sound contents...

I am still downloading and thinking that opening and installing all the dmg's is going to be a royal PITA. I am hoping an install automator is on the roadmap. Some kind of app that perhaps allows you to select the dmg's you want to install (in the same folder) and does the install completely for those selected with no user input. Expecting the user to download 25 files and THEN open and runs installers, is asking too much.

Post

yes, I agree, total PITA.
and as a bonus, SY-99 part2 .dmg says "cannot find any sound content to install" after 30 minutes of opening...

Looks like (on MAC) you can skip .DMG disk images verification, which takes A LOT less time...

by typing:

defaults write com.apple.frameworks.diskimages skip-verify true

in terminal. I hope it could help someone

(revert to false if needed again)

awesome info thanks!

Also you can open multiple pkg files and only enter the password for one of them which will then get used by the others, preventing to have to enter the password for each pkg (assuming the Syntronik dmg's contain pkgs... I am still downloading so I can't see what they contain).
