no, i got it, eventually, but i don't understand why they couldn't have just added an obvious icon to go to synth GUI instead of this "deselect everything else" thing. i am much more used to tabbed interfaces, not this outdated MDI paradigm.spacekid wrote:^ Consider the menu buttons up top as toggles and it will become second nature..took me a bit to get used to viewing them that way. far left toggle takes you to the synth view..also, the headphone button is actually solo..don't get the choice of a headphone icon versus a big 'S' instead.

I was wondering about this:Russell Grand wrote:Then I'd say it's more than just a decent amount of patches in the free version.ghettosynth wrote: the effects are enough alone to make the point of absurdity.
"IK has also released Syntronik Free. With this version you can experience all 17 instruments with 50 available sounds including the full functionality of all controls, 38 effects, 4-part layers, splits and arpeggiators. This allows you to build a customized synth studio one instrument at a time and easily expand Syntronik Free via the In-App Shop."
Before I try downloading it, can you save modified presets of your own (using the many controls, effects, layers etc.) with the free version? I am guessing so, judging from that news release... but I wasn't sure. Anyway, that would be pretty cool to have all that available.

The only difference between SampleTank/Syntronik free and full is the authorization of samples - everything else, including the ability to save presets, is there. so presumably, since Syntronik includes all samples from the free version, the patches would be compatible once you go for full version.

but i can make my own patches and presets and save them on free mode.Burillo wrote:The only difference between SampleTank/Syntronik free and full is the authorization of samples - everything else, including the ability to save presets, is there. so presumably, since Syntronik includes all samples from the free version, the patches would be compatible once you go for full version.
so the different between the free and full is the samples and presets , right.

Down the page. That should make it appear in your user area, if it isn't already: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/ca ... C=softwarethecontrolcentre wrote:I cant find a download for the free version. Anyone got a link to the download page?
edit: like Burillo said.

Sadly, I think, for saved multis you have to have the saved single presets that make up the multi..which means that for sharing presets it is a lot more difficult to do than it has to be. If it saved multis as everything programmed, it would be more convenient. Main failure being that you have to deal with a bigger upload and keeping track of singles + the multi.Lets dance wrote:but i can make my own patches and presets and save them on free mode.Burillo wrote:The only difference between SampleTank/Syntronik free and full is the authorization of samples - everything else, including the ability to save presets, is there. so presumably, since Syntronik includes all samples from the free version, the patches would be compatible once you go for full version.

See this is where we all differ. There is no one way to do or use things. For example, I have very different opinions than the last 2 posts:
1. I prefer algo synths. Syntronik sounds not bad and I am excited about it, but I know I will use my synths more than this. Same with the UVI libraries I own, I don't use very much. I'm a knob twiddler. And I find the sound quality from the synths I have to be excellent.
2. I was thinking about how much money and effort IK put into the GUI for Syntronik - how the controls are the same across all the patches but they went to the effort to create front panels that look like the synths the repsective sound was sampled from. I like this a lot! It gives me the "feel" of using the respective synths, most of which I have used in real life. And the GUI is really well done and continuously sizable!
Everyone has their own opinions about these two things, sound and look/feel but a plugin typically has one approach to each. Hopefully what IK did here won't cause too much conflicts with people, but I like what they've done in both regards. My only issue is that I don't find "ROMplers" as inspiring and fun to use as synths. I am glad I got Syntronik and I will use it for sure (but my synths will still be my go-to tools).

I say 'for soft synths that all sound the same, there are a lot of threads..nothing new' but that's why I would rather have samples...to each his own.Lets dance wrote:for samples there is alot of pages in this thread .

So, Ive been watching this thread for awhile & besides the meanderings of how realistic this is plus "romplers aren't real synths" discussions, Im glad IK got this released & also have a free version to try out. Ill be trying it out later & it looks super versatile.
1 thing that always gets me about IK is the implementation of aftertouch. In ST3 I tried to raise a stink about it, but I guess it was a nonissue. Seeing how Syntronik is marketed as a synth (ish)... I really feel they need to take the time to implement aftertouch as a control somewhere in ST3, Syntronik or both.

This thing is awesome. This is the best $70 (Jam Points) I have spent on this game!!!!!!!! It's nowhere as limited as people are saying. I was able to get a new sound from the synth page that sounded nothing like the original with just adjusting envelopes and filters and on top of it sounded fantastic!! A++
Only a couple things though. I am unable to save a preset the menu just opens and immediately closes. Not sure whats going on. probably my daw. I'll try it in reaper. Also can we please have a dedicated menu icon for the synth page, instead of having to switch between that and the fx strip. Oh and speaking of that please let us use the FX channel strip as a regular vst FX processor. That would be dope even if it is extra or you have to be total max owner or something. That would be great. Thanks
