I have some nki instruments I really want to use, but for some reason Kontakt refuses to work on my computer. I'm able to access the wav samples used, so I can load those into a sampler instead, but it's kind of a pain to do so I only want to use that as a last resort.

So, is there anything else that will load these instruments? (It's fine if it doesn't have certain effects or features or whatever; I rarely use those anyway.)

If you're into using Kontakt instruments, not being able to use Kontakt is quite a limitation in the long run. The first thing that comes to mind is, before trying an alternative solution, contact Native Instruments support and send them the specifics of the situation. There's a high probability they are able to help you.

I had the same problem, after hours upon hours with NI technical support, the solution was to just buy a new computer.

If you don't mind having no GUI for your instruments, you can always use a free sampler like Grace Sampler that will load Sfz file:

And create your Sfz automatically using a Sfz converter like the very good Versilian Studios Sfz converter freeware:

http://vis.versilstudios.net/sfzconverter.html

There's also the free Sfz builder:

viewtopic.php?f=42&t=480204

Just and drag and drop your wav file to create your Sfz instruments and load them in Grace Sampler.

Thank you for these alternatives.

Sforzando is another free SFZ player. I think it is something of the standard at this point.
