While you're at it... can anyone provide the Maestro Grand Piano Soundfont by Mats Helgesson ? The site's downloads are down for the moment but in any case that big soundfont was long gone from the site's links.
Thank you

If I remember right, this is MDA Piano with a new GUI. I haven't tried plugsound free's piano, but I'll have to try it against the others I have...

Oh no not again...

That's the problem with really good samples - they're huge and hosting really does cost serious money. My wife has an 80Gb/month account for a fairly reasonable amount but that would vanish in a couple of days with some decent samples for download, I guess...

Maestro Grand is very nice. The license does permit redistribution unmodified including the readme, though, so if anyone wants to host it, they can.

It's 961,648KB, though, so make sure you've the bandwidth before stepping up... (That's four days' worth of capacity on my host...)

That's the GIG version as far as I know. Was there ever a soundfont version as well slightly smaller?

I tried to find it with a 'famous' P2P program but there's only one user or so who offers it. If more would provide it maybe...

Nice link there. The classic piano sf is very useful.

I have a Squire upright piano. Its very old and has been refurbished. The wood is very dark, could be mahogany.

Anyway, my point is that the sound is sweet. Its really deep and woody. I find a lot of these piano soundfonts sound too "new" and clean.

I like a nice dirty piano sound, and that isn't really something that effects can get you.

This is the Reason why I adore Reason's pianos, because they're very dirty sounding.
