Just a request for more information concerning your acoustic drum libraries . I am impressed with the acoustic drum library I just purchased with the famous group buy. I still crave more velocity layers (I have an electronic kit which i use to play samples live - what would be really great would be automatic sample selection when a given drum (midi note) was struck repeatedly. Is this possible? I think it would add a great deal to the feel and authenticity of the instrument with subtle timbre changes with each hit. I suppose it would take a custom engine to pull it off. I have had friends suggest the DKH product but I want to stay ram based for now. Any thoughts or insight into coming products in this category?

I like that too. Reason's NNXT is actually one of the best for that kind of thing. It has an ALT feature that allows samples in the alt group to randomly be triggered. Kontakt has something called Round Robin which is good that way too but not quite as flexible as the NNXT's ironically.
Anyway, we just finished a new refill called "Premium Drum Kit" that has this extensively. There's also one called "Reality Drums" that is really inexpenive and it also does this on many of its kits too.
There is a massive drum library coming out very soon as well that will have this feature.

Will this new library be for ST or will it have it;s own custom engine?

The new one? Premium Drum Kits? It is a Reason refill we're doing for M-Audio.Scotty wrote:Will this new library be for ST or will it have it;s own custom engine?
The closest thing to a high end drum library so far for ST is the Studio Drum Capsule. More info on www.esoundz.com about that. It's a 2 gig drum library in ST format. Nice.
But, we have drums coming out of our ears. There's also I-Drums (new title to be announced though) in Kontakt, EXS and/or HALion and possibly (probably) Giga 3. Then there is Studiophonik which has a large emphasis on drums and that has it's own ST2 engine with a few cool dedicated features.
