And by the way, If anyone is interested in what the knobs in the interface will do, then this H9 algorithms page might be helpful.

It would be actually nice, if they ported more of the H9 algorithms to VST. Crystals would be a good competition to Soundtoys and there's some other really nice effects there too.

Well, I'd say the price is comparable to H9 algos (they priced "cheaper" - around 20 - but you also pay for the hardware, which is not exactly cheap...) and it would sum up pretty quickly if they ported a lot of the H9 algos to plugin format... it's easier to enter (no need to buy dedicated hardware) and the number of instances is limited only by the pc power, but it could be still pretty expensive in the long run...layzer wrote:$49, not bad considering their hardware stuff sold for thousands
I'm debating if I should buy this because I already own an H9 Max (and a Core), but it's gassing me.
I wonder what "H9 Plugin Series" will mean for my finances...

I hope Eventide turns all of the H9 algorithms into VST plugs. There are some amazing H9 algorithms!Heartfeltdawn wrote:Brilliant. I love Ultratap on the H9. Instant buy come August.

I guess the question would be is what will this do that my others (Soundtoys, FabFilter, Unfiltered Audio, ReplikaXT) cannot? I have all the delays from above. Black hole is interesting but not at 4x or even two times the price of Shimmer. Now having Quadrovox also does produce a difference.

It certainly won't replace any of those delays. It is more a creative reverb.acousticglue wrote:I guess the question would be is what will this do that my others (Soundtoys, FabFilter, Unfiltered Audio, ReplikaXT) cannot? Largely in the same ballpark. Ubermod is more flexible for sure.Vortifex wrote:Difference between this and Ubermod?
I've only played with a little so far and have had better results using it as a subtle rather than an extreme effect.
It does sound very good though and has that Eventide silky smooth sound about it. The ribbon morphs excellently and you can fully modulate everything with minimal artifacts.
STW-Audio's Reflex+ is another plugin that bears some comparison.
Demo it?

Übermod a lot more flexible/versatile, several different algorithms, distortion, EQ, etc. but max 32taps and no preset morphing
UltraTap max 64 taps, morphing a la Blackhole, simple (single page/tab) GUI
