Part of my income is reviewing audio plug-ins for a producer blog. I also own hundreds of plug-ins but I have an idea for something that I don't think is currently out there. I won't go into detail here but it's a fairly simple pitch modulation effect. It's something that I would use all the time but I haven't seen any plug-in's available that achieve this effect correctly. I'd like to either hand-off my idea to a plug-in developer in exchange for just a shout out in the credits or work collaboratively on the design and implementation. Does anyone have time and interest in a project this? Thanks

THere's the standard blurb on that front:

Thanks for the link I didn't see that README before. I'm not really willing to post all the details of my idea on this thread but it is certain flavor of tape emulation that focuses on pitch effects. Despite what that Readme says I really don't think it would be complex to make. If any programmers are interested on working on this with me, please PM me. I also understand if everyone is busy though, just thought I'd float it out there.

No offense, but this description is really not coming across as anything unique.

I get what you're saying. The type of plug-in, pitch modulation, is not unique of course. But what it offers is a very specific type of tape/cassette pitch modulation I haven't been able to emulate in Izotope Vinyl, UAD Tape emulators, Kramer Tape, nor many others. I suppose it's possible to get it with very precise combination and manipulation of some of these plug-ins but what I want to offer is a simple easy to use way to nail a particular sound.

Here are some links of the effect I'm going for....

That's basically what Psychic Modulation's Echomelt does.

you could get this effect using a delay line and automation on its "read head" (delay time)

alternatively, with a chorus effect, fully wet, modulate the chorus depth

there might be other ways too
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

ImageMaybe something like the waves adt could do something like that? The varispeed control automates the read head.

As far as automating the read time of a tape delay plugin, yeah I suppose I could do that, but doesn't seem like the best/easiest method.

EchoMelt is awesome, I'm trying it out right now. Yeah this is basically what I am/was going for. I'll have to play with it more to make sure I can get something useable out of it but looks good. It looks kinda complex though so there still may be a niche for a easy-set up tape wobble with maybe just 3 knobs. ADT is not what I'm looking for
