Hi there,
I am testing FL Studio at this moment and must always switch between draw and select mode in the piano roll. That is very annoying cause in other DAWs like Reaper this is one task.
Is there a way to select per rectangle, draw, delete and modify notes without switching modes?

Isn't the Magic Lasso what you're after ?

No, to use it you must hold down a shortcut or switch to select mode.
In Reaper or Ableton you don't have to switch modes for essential work in the piano roll editor. Only with the mouse and without have your fingers on the keyboard or change modes you can:
- create, delete and modify notes in pitch, length, velocity and position
- select single note or multiply with a rectangle selection

He was right, with magic lasso you can do all that with only the mouse.Taurus wrote:No, to use it you must hold down a shortcut or switch to select mode.

I didn't get it. I have installed FL-Studio again. In the piano roll I've activated draw mode, then activate magic lasso und also in the general options the setting "Click and Hold & special gesture feature"
How can I now select multiply Notes in the drawmode only with the mouse without hitting a key a an icon?
I other DAWs a doubleclick deletes a note and with the right button I can draw a selection rectangle, or I must hold down the left mousebutton in a empty area to get the selection rect. In FL-Studio a doubleclick on a note opens the note-properties which I never need and and a long left click in an empty area will start a split tool which I never ever used.
I am very confused.

Now I have to learn how the song/pattern mode works. At this moment I have no clue how this should work all together.
