Right! K5 + Native Access + FFS

I had to reinstall my operating system.
I have some NI Kontakt Libraries on an external hard drive.
If I go into Native Access, it wants me to re-download and install my NI Libraries.
Other Protected Libraries from Third Parties can simply be activated by pointing to the correct folder and choosing ADD LIBRARY.
Do I really have to re-download all of my ABBEY ROAD DRUM Libraries (as an example)? The NI internet connection is really crap lately and keeps failing. If I choose to download an individual installer and do it that way, it's a bit quicker but not by much.
Why is there no option for Native Instruments products to simply ADD LIBRARY?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ...

Knew I'd seen it somewhere. This seems to be what you do;
https://support.native-instruments.com/ ... Hard-Drive
Haven't tried it though as I downloaded all the installers individually when I got Komplete - always feared the situation you're in!

If I click on ADD LIBRARY in Kontakt 5 it opens up NATIVE ACCESS and asks me to ADD A SERIAL, which is already associated with MY ACCOUNT, so it just loops back to the same problem again.

Been looking around and found most (if not all) of my old installers on another hard drive. Lucky I took the time to make some kind of backups.

I hit this problem a couple of weeks ago and gave up trying to find an elegant solution after spending way too much time in that loop you describe.

It seems really stupid that you can't just choose to ADD LIBRARY.
Anyway, I installed 'Abbey Road 70s Drummer Library v1.0.0' and applied the v1.1.0 Update I already had backed up. The good news is that the Library showed up in the K5 TAB. On opening NATIVE ACCESS, it said there was an available update (to v1.3.0), so I'm downloading that now. I hope the download won't get interrupted. It's only 149MB but like I said earlier, the Internet Connection to NI is terrible (for me) at the moment.

I downloaded all mine doing this and using Free Download Manager, as I've got a shite internet connection;

Rather than mounting the .iso images I just extracted them with 7-zip.

Thanks dt. I've bookmarked the page so I can have a proper read.
By the way, the v1.3.0 update worked earlier. See previous post.

(1) Great. Thanks. Managed to download the Abbey Road 70s Drummer Library Update v1.3.0 that got deleted immediately after installing via NATIVE ACCESS. It took no time at all. (2) Getting direct download links: In Native Access, choose the tab ''Not installed'' and click INSTALL for the product that you want to obtain a direct download link for. As soon as the download begins press the keys Ctrl + Alt + Del on your computer keyboard at the same time and choose Task Manager from the list: If the Windows User Account Control asks you to allow the program to make changes to your computer, confirm with Yes. Choose Native Access from the list and click End task.
Go back to File Explorer and double-click the ''.toc-file'' located in your designated download folder. In our example the file's name is "nidownload_Hexagon_Highway.toc": If prompted to, choose to open the file with Notepad. Copy the selected link (from "nidownload_Hexagon_Highway.toc") and paste it into your browser.

It's a bit crap that they have to tell you to terminate their own application in order to get then get a link from a file in notepad though.
Perhaps it might be better if they just put a 'get direct download link' button in Native Access. In the real world (i.e. not at NI's office..) people have crap internet connections that get temperamental at times, such as if it's raining, or someone boils a kettle three streets away.
Anyway, that aside, glad you got it sorted.

After doing all the updating to 70s drummer, I decided to move it to another location.
After opening up K5 it asked me to browser for the new location. It worked.
NI need to get out of the bubble and get some fresh air.
Thanks again.

I ran into a similar issue (on Mac) when setting the NI stuff up a new computer.
All the K11 libraries were on an external drive and NA like you was saying I needed to download them.
In the end I copied all the relevant plist files (on Mac, System > Library > Preferences... not sure on Windows) from the old computer to Preferences in the new one and they then showed up in NA. [ No change of path with the external drive, no need to re-download many Gigs! ].

Lucky for you.
It's a bit insane the way they have it right now but at least there is a workaround.
I noticed with a couple of files, that if I download say v1.2.0, they show up in the NATIVE ACCESS App' as v1.4.0, without any additional updates applied.
