It's true, Soothe get you good results really quickly, while Sibalance requires a good amount of tweaking. And the result is NOT the same, mind you. So, again, Soothe seems really good to me, I don't mean to bash it at all. It's great. But for that price ... I'll stick with what I have.

Did you compare it to soothe?Reefius wrote:I use SoundBrigade by Sknote, which only costs $30.
Quinto promised me a copy of SoundBrigade for testing, but he is nowhere to be found lately.

A lot of great things come from Finland.. YOU for example.Captain wrote:I was actually looking for something like soothe around 5 years agoviewtopic.php?f=6&t=359522&p=5058249
...but back then, nothing like it really existed. I was so surprised/delighted when I realized that soothe is _exactly_ what I have been seeking all these years (not to mention that it's from my country of all places... go Finland!). Been using it a lot since I got it a few months ago, definitely a time and energy saver!
Man, I was tempted to write this the last time I saw you post here but today I just have to do it. A few days ago I caught myself humming the melody of Space Debris while commuting to work. I just want you to know that you've created one of the most brilliant pieces of music ever and that you stand among the giants (in my opinion). I've met you a couple of times way back in the early Assembly days (I think it was in Assembly 94, 95 or 96.. not sure which ones were in the old icehockey stadium) but not quite sure.. it was such a long time ago. I must have said the same thing back then. Yet I still hum the melody of that tune still in 2017. It's right up there with catchy melodies from Vangelis and Jarre. Not sure what black magic you did to create it but whatever it is.. it's magic still works.
Anyhow.. carry on.

Cheers!

Hear hear. I quess for me also the quest for better sounds in Sound/Protracker started hearing your compo winning modulesCaptain wrote:Wow, thank you!bmanic wrote: A lot of great things come from Finland.. YOU for example.![]()
Yeah, those were the days... I guess if there was/is some sort of "magic" in Space Debris, it was greatly aided by all the limitations of the Amiga/tracker environment, and me not being (yet) too perfectionist with every single sound and detail. With more gear, plugins and possibilities, it's so much easier to get lost in technology and sometimes pretty meaningless details... Of course there's necessarily nothing wrong with that, I love the technical aspect just as much as I love the "musical" and "artistic" side of things. But yeah, enough deep thoughts for now, thanks again for brightening up my day!

Soothe demo kept crashing my cubase 8.5 in Windows 7 64. Tried different versions but it would crash pretty quickly when I started altering the controls, may be graphics related. I gave up on it.
Plugin Alliance DSM is also great for taming sounds as well as Nova GE. I've only tried the demo at Nova but it does a nice job at the deresonate function. Both of these tools can be creative as well as corrective and both are worth their price in my opinion.

Dont have DSM but Nova is phenomenal for sure. Use it all the time. The auto-deresonate function is fantastic. Again, very very reasonably priced too. High price does not equal high quality. In fact, the opposite is true more and more often ...

Soothe is going on sale for 99.00 Euros . I got an email from Oake today and they are going to be releasing a new plugin in a couple of months. Now I could complain that I paid a lot more for Soothe than the sale price but I won't. It is all over my tracks, subtly and in some cases doing some pretty important surgery. For $99.00 it is a steal. It would be nice if Oakesound gave the early adopters some incentive to purchase the new plugin given the price slash but that is up to them.
