Hi All, my first post

We are planning to use Tracktion 7 for our band backing tracks and click tracks from a laptop sent to Focusrite 6i6 1 stereo track and 2 mono click tracks, one for the vocalists and one for the keyboard player. The DAW does what we want but I need to find a way of auto stopping after every track and then pressing the space bar to start the next track. I am aware that the spacebar does stop and start but as the sound and lighting guy I have lots to do and may miss pressing the space bar to stop.. any advice or solution would be greatly received.. thanks in advance guys. Cheers.

Might be quicker to ask on the Tracktion page: viewforum.php?f=22

Could the keyboard player or singer do it?

Post

I did think of that but the singers are too busy being divas and the keyboard player has 2 x 88 key stage pianos hooked up to another laptop running midi stuff through Presonus that is quite hands on as it is. Might be a bit much... he did say he could do it ...but!!. Im one of those types that say.. if you want something doing properly, do it yourself. . This is our first outing with Tracktion running the click tracks through a Focusrite 6i6 to the mixer and out to IEM's. I used to playback off an ipad but the intro clicks embeded on the front of a mp3 backing track seemed so amature, hence going over to a DAW with seperate outs. We have time to rehearse so if it seems to be problematic I will look at our setup again.. sigh! More money to spend.. Just wished I could get auto stop.. I have tried Ableton live on several laptops and it does what I want..but I found it unstable for reasons unknown, glitching and crashing..too risky at the moment. I have also tried Presonus but that is a much larger install and I cant afford the time to flit from screen to screen as I have the mixer and lighting to pay attention too as well, It seems Tracktion is the only DAW I have come across that offers most controls on a single page... ie.. quick glance to see if all is ok and jump back to the million other thing's I need to do during a live gig. .. Sincere thanks for your input anyway guys.. Cheers.
