I wasn't expecting anything near Pro-R / Blackhole / VVV quality but ouch it actually gets harsh in places - though they don't seem to be dampening it in the vid.
I like the "sound design" possibilities. Might be worth it just for that (bypass the verb and use the other effects) so I'm not totally put off at that price.

Unfortunately, setting the reverb stage to 100% dry cancels all of the other modules. So, you have to eat the terrible reverb in order to use the extra modules.

OK, I've just tried Oracle...
Absolutely awful reverb on pianos and for generic real-sounding purposes (metallic sound and nearly no control over the reverb behaviour), but awesome reverb on clear synth leads ! This reverb algorhythm is definitely usable on electronica, you get a insanely-clear reverb that you can't easily get with another plugin. If you're into EDM, do try this reverb before the price rises.
My conclusion is that it's an experimental electronica reverb, a crazy-clear reverb.
Can't pass for this price, purchased !

Can't argue with that man. Hardware verbs are top. Just it's kinda a luxury for most of us you know? Gotta be practical. It's all itb? We can do shit like send the whole project out to another studio and transfer licenses online for all the plugs to make it go. Boom. Good and done in 5 minutes. Kinda hard to move hardware between studios clear across the country in time for business you know? Don't worry. I also thought that Oracle sounded better, but not better enough to justify spending money. I'm sure if I did even more tweaking and swapped out some other plugins I could get them sounding pretty damn close. They were just too close to get my wallet involved. Now, if I could have assurances from Soundspot that the reverb algorithm will be updated in the future, I would actually probably take the gamble and buy it.Armagibbon wrote:You know man... I bought Oracle and have had only a short time to play with it.
First of all, it's preset management sucks using pro tools!
I imported one of the presets and applied Oracle to a line of dialogue from a film I'm working on, and then played with the extremes of the various parameters in the 'channelstrip'.
In less than 10 minutes I had created this very low, rumbly, dark, smooth, weird drone thing.
It was terrific!
I didnt have any time to play with it after that but I can't wait to get back to it!
I'm very excited to have a new creative tool to play with!
I really like Oracle so far (in the minority it seems), and for me, for $13, it is a nobrainer!
