In the first example, what is the strummed instrument that's playing along with the fiddle?

In the second example, there's a high pitched pluck sound then in the second half there's also a strummed sound (could be from the same instrument?).

Any help identifying them would be appreciated. :phones:

It's often quite difficult to tell with these things, but they both sound like they might be possibly be a bouzouki - sounds a bit low to be a mandolin and it definitely sounds to be steel strings, especially in the first one.

That's my guess!

I would guess it's plucked fiddle/violin

Yea the first part of the second example does sound like it may be a a bouzouki.

There is a fiddle in the first example, but I'm not referring to that.

Yeah, sorry didn't listen all the way through. Was a bit preoccupied. Something cooking

Edit/Addendum:
Hard to tell. Could be a lot of different instruments, but bouzouki it could be. Or tar, tumbi, setar... good luck

I think that strummed instrument in the first example might be a Duicimer?

Like someone else said, it's really impossible to tell. Most of these guitar-like instruments are essentially the same anatomically anyways. When you add processing (you could take a guitar, speed it up, and get a similar or identical sound to the second sample), it is anyone's guess. Generally the style of music will be your best clue (the first one is obviously Irish or American music related to Irish music, so look at what Irish folk music typically uses for that role - it sounds like a banjo to me). For the second one, could easily be a bouzouki.

Definitely sounds like a bouzouki to me in the second example. The first one is a bit harder to guess, it does steer more towards banjo.

I want to "third" the bouzouki. That and a fiddle. Doable with something like Gypsy by Eastwest or Era II found at BestService.
