Can anyone tell me why just about all of the music “loop and sample” sites are only selling “electronic /synthesizer “ based loops and samples? The word glut doesn’t begin to describe the amount of the aforementioned offerings! In fact, one can find the same samples and loops spread over two or three sites!

The other sample and loops style that has a lot of samples and loops is heavy metal that has dwindled in audience years ago. BUT I have had a ball with them since I have been in known groups that played that style and love it! I

There are other styles of music one of which is “blowing up” big time that will be worth a lot of sales and that is the new Country/Rock/Pop/EDM movement spire headed by Keith Urban’s last CD. You will find strange sounding pads with aggressive rock/EDM drums with treated everything else WITH a banjo or steel guitar! Everything is game.

There has been a “blight” in so called country music in the last 4 years which is known in Nashville as “CRAP”. That's is country and rap put together …… kinda. It consists of 2-3 note melodies and 2-3 note choruses notes about tractors, pickup trucks. Lil Darlin’ and “my daddy use to tell me!!

The two major sites that have at least something as far as country instruments that are played as is or get warped are Big Fish and, believe it or not, Nexus 2. They have an acoustic and rock guitar template/samples/loops ( rock guitar dated but at least it's there) and drums and bass. Some of the samples/loops and messed up in a good way.

I am so tired of one VST synth after another coming out with so called “different stuff”. I was programming “The Refrigerator", Moog was” i.e. the first HUGE Moog synth where 8 patch cords and you got a sine wave in music school years ago. Moog was actually the school's service guy !!! Great guy !!

I still create electronic music but my world has been in the hit record bisness i.e. rock, pop, and dance. Then, of course, as far as orchestral samples and loops are concerned, there are people who are making incredible sounds from VST synths that are NAILING it concerning orchestral music and movie sound tracks.

Anyway, can at least a few of you expand in the new country/rock sprinkled with synths world? Again, listen to the Keith Urban CD. Four MILLION CDS just in the U.S. and counting. He is pulling back a bit too country for his next CD but will be still different/original.

There are lots of “customers” ( songwriters/artists who cannot play guitar etc. ) that would buy up samples and loops by the truck load if there were more — like a lot more!

Thank you ……. “jus sayin’' — Duane Hitchings
