found that over time you noticed aspects of it that you wish you'd altered before the release?

I'm finalising my CD and focussing so much on details I'm rather lost and don't know when to stop.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I've never done that, but I imagine everyone feels like that, hearing small flaws or things they'd do differently. I guess there comes a point where you have to let it go - after all most listeners are unlikely to notice the things you are unhappy with...

Post

i think everyone does that yes.you just have to set a date

ill give you a hand er sept 27th,all got to be done by then so you got a few weeks now and thats it.

for me personally i find my music is ever changing,i constantly find new things that will work here and there and i think your probably the same as most people are,we want it to be the best we can do.but seriously take a date and stick to it,its the only way 8)

lookin forward to it,or is it just going to be for demos?its just ive heard good things about your tunes from someone i respect greatly

Really?

I'll be putting it on a site like Homemademusic.com, so it will be available for all.

It's at the stage where I could release it now. . . I'm just getting nervous I think.

yes really.so make sure you let me know and youve got one sale already so you gotta hurry up now.

like i said though everyone gets like that, dont forget this isnt something you spent ten minutes on,this is a big part of your life for the past however long,of course you want it to be as good as possible as you want people to like it.its natural.

so now i guess more importantly good luck with it 8)

I'm about to finish my CD...
I know this CD will be only for family and friends but there is always something wrong.
When it's a vocal or guitare track you have to re-record it then redo the mix.....

It' s a nightmare !!!!!!! :x

well I agree that it's important to you, but I would see it as only a moment in time, a snapshot of your current abilities. Make the most of the track but if you have success, I'm sure in years to come, however good it is and however long you spend on it, you'll still cringe at certain bits...

True. There's always the option to remix/remaster the material in the future too, as the Prodigy did with their first album I believe. But of course you don't want people to feel that they're buying something 'unfinished' (whatever that means).

i kind of agree with you,yes in years to come with or without success there will be bits you sih you had done differently.but as a first time solo effort i honestly think your likely to be more nervous?
i know i was, also the thing ive just done with scot and the guys that too even tho i only played a small part i wanted it to be right 8)
but yes now that the track has been finalised and sent to the label there are bits i would like to change, but ill just do it on the next project and hope it works :D

sorry im stoned and now im just ramblin, but i oh i cant think what i was sayin but yeah, for any other artists out there the best idea is to set a date to work to,even if you dont set it till late on its still a goal :D

seems to be CD finishing time

I´m also working on my first CD

I´m always in doubt
which songs to put on, (have more then enough),

which sequenze of the songs,

are the songs really ready to go

should I do more/better songs

and and and ....

I know that from other projects I did.

think there will always be questions and it needs the point/date set to stop the worries and fix it,
as vurt said.
sound is vibration, vibration is life

I've released plenty of stuff, later listening going 'What the hell was I thinking?' You do your best at the time, and release it!
