i got Syntronik recently + Diva and OBXD + also Gforce stuff.

dont know if more analogish romplers/presetmachines are not redundant?
Nah, I think you got a good selection with those already. Though I have to say my favorite instruments in the Vintage Vault are the more exotic ones like the PX Apollo, Chroma and UVS-3200. And you get a nice selection of drum sounds as well. But a lot of it will be redundant since you have Syntronik.
A nice complement to what you already have would be UVI Falcon.

My biggest problem with this would be, how do you keep track of the presets? afaik Falcon doesn't have an Omnisphere-like database... there's no catalog or favorites system of any kind.

The workflow I've come up with is:

1. Create two parts
2. Load a preset into part 1
3. If I like it, copy it to part 2, and save from part 2 (because doing so loses the path of the original preset)

It's painful, to say the least.

Does anyone have a better way of keeping track of favorite presets in Falcon?

The best way for me has been to use the DAWs preset management system, which of course is a bit of a pain if you move between certain DAWs or if you use Falcon in stand alone mode.

As I wrote earlier in the thread I think that preset management is something they need to make a priority. Also the fact that some instruments have their presets available in the Falcon browser tree while others have them hidden inside the instrument makes things a bit messy. They should make that consistent.

I just make a "My Favourites" folder in "Places", and then any patches I like, I resave them in there (using Save Program As...).

Ah I had been doing it all wrong... I was using the standard browser (when you double click the program name on the left) and so when I Save Program As... it would lose the location. But if I use the tree view on the right to navigate presets, I can save programs without losing my place in the preset library.

Well that's a lot better, thanks :)

There's a ton of stuff in this bundle. I will check this out.

edit: wrong thread.sorry.

The OB Legacy- REALLY, REALLY good stuff in there! Finally someone did samples of the Matrix 12 justice!!! The Arturia Matrix 12 stuff was such a disappointment to me. The UVI Matrix 12 material was worth the price alone. I've already created quite a bit of new programs from all the great material in that library. Thank you, UVI! :tu:

Here is an OB Legacy remix of Alpha by Vangelis. 80% of the sounds are from the Matrix 12 section alone. No external reverb or EQing was used at all- simply 100% UVI OB Legacy. I'm really enjoying OB Legacy. :hyper:

I'm not convinced yet. What are your experiences with ob legacy? Not much on the net till now. :?
Thanks!

Well what are you looking to know? It's a pretty massive product with a wide variety of sounds so I think most of us have only scratched the surface so far.

But I think that if you are not compelled enough by the demo tunes that are out there it might not be worth it. Because it doesn't really matter if someone else loves how it sounds if you don't. In terms of function it's not much different from any of the other UVI instruments.

Personally I've found a few patches that I really like so far. But I probably wouldn't have paid for it on its own. Quantum7 seems to enjoy it much more however!

Yeah, I've always been a sucker for Oberheim sounds. I own an OB6, but am hoping to pick up an old OB-X and Matrix-12 one day eventually. Arturia's Matrix stuff STINKS, so it was refreshing to hear UVI at least do the Matrix-12 some justice.

Well, I had a Matrix 6k in the old days, and it had that special sound. In the demos and videos there are not so much pad sounds to hear that sound kind of flourish. Too much short arpeggios. Synth lover for me was kind of an executIon. No one said it sounds like oberheim except quantum7, sorry.
Arturias ob12 was not so great too, the experts say

Maybe you can post some real nice brass / strings pads from ob legacy.
