Is there a way you can batch import wavetables etc?
Seems you have to do one at a time. Cheers.

@Mirko:
It seems, you've remembered and depicted every single step, Very helpful, again thank you for taking the time.

Shouldn't go much wrong now when I give it a try - unless I don't find a a Cello, of course. :D

Hi Mirko,

what sound(s) have you used as the input source? Very nice. :)

And a huge Thank You for all your videos show-casing what Rapid is able to deliver. Very informative and convincing and very nice tunes!

Cheers,

Thanks a lot. Uuuh, I just played around and I don't have the source anymore. But if I am not wrong, on Layer 1 it was a violin or a cello. Just record it in a minor chord (C D# G) and once again in a major chord (C E G). Than I imported booth waves in RAPID and choose "Resynthesis". The major chord I set to Osc 1 and the minor chord to Osc 2. With the Macro 1 knob I switch between booth oscs:
MinMaj1.jpg

The output of Layer 1 goes to Layer 2.
In Layer 2 I have another Resynthesis-Sound with a simple "aaah" voice as source. In this case I give all three oscs this Reynth-Multisample with hdiffferente pitches. Osc B is set to +16 Semitones (major) and pitches down to +15 Semitones when the Macro 1 button is on 100%:
MinMaj2.jpg
Now I can play a single note like C and RAPID plays a beatuful heavenly major chord and if I now want to play a nice progression, I can switch the chord from major to minor by using Macro 1.
A creative trick and for such chord changes are key switches usefull too. then you can press for example c1 before short and major chords are play. and when you play a minor chord or a other chord, you can press c#1 and the settings on other layer are use. this can also use to play diffrent chord sequences.

I test if it is possible to map the macro knob to layer on off. not work. but if it can work then can change which layer is play with the macro controller. so can too have on diffrent layers diffrent chords and sequence patterns

I watched the legato switch video and now understand what you meant. So you essentially use a note value to trigger a predefined set of commands. Like, turning on/off the "Mono/Legato" button.
It would be more like a global controller value setting values "before" a voice starts with changed performance settings. So defining it via layer routing entry is not practicable. Therefore it needs a completely new panel to define it. Have to say: As nice as it sounds, this feature is a bit open ended and I imagine it's probably not so easy to setup manually. On the other hand, it shouldn't be too restrictive.

Currently, things like this have a low priority. If you can't wait for it, I recommend playing around with the external plugin parameters named:

1-Glide-Time
1-Glide-Always
1-Mono-Legato

"1" for Layer 1. Using DAW automations.
legato switch.png
Here an example setup in FL Studio. Note #2 is played with legato and #3 without, even though it's overlapping. So instead of using keys to trigger your behavior, you can use automations or controllers.
If you have a switch/pad/knob on your keyboard, you can map it to mono legato and even switch it while playing.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

use controller is good too. maybe a controller (macro) is possible for layer on/off switch. when value is 0 mean layer 1-2 is on others are off. when value is 1 mean layer 3-4 is on others off.... so it can easy program and offer much more. maybe other like it too

BTW: key switches are common standard in near all high end synths/samplers as kontakt, falcon, halion have it(and of course sfz load). Halion is most ahead, it have also the ability to switch diffrent patterns, change patterns only at next bar option, so arp patterns stay in sync and switch need not exact on bar

EDIT: have only 4 switches have also advantage to can map on modulation wheel. when wheel is at low end 0 then layer 1-2 are only play. Is wheel a not at low end 0 but below middle, layer 3 and 4 are play. Is wheel above middle but not at high end 127 then layer 5 and 6 are only on. is wheel at high end 127 then only layer 7 8 are play

I found a source sf2 sfz loader/ saver with source. maybe somebody can compile the source and add support to create a sfz export(it have sfz support but do not name the samples as they need for rapid) that can load into rapid ?

Quick note: If the files didn't have the correct naming scheme (sample_C4_V0_RR0.wav), there is also the alternative to use "embedded" data. In this case RAPID would use the velocity value of the Instrument chunk ('inst') and the MIDI Unity Note of the Sampler Chunk 'smpl'. Most wave editors export and embedded this information into the wave files. Maybe the sfz export does it too?

Some people ask for english tutorials. I can give it a try but first I would like to know, what kind of tutorial you want...

1. basics of RAPID
2. library / import (wavetables, multisamples, resynthesis)
3. advanced techniques
4. workflow
5. sounddesign
6. others

I guess you can go with all of them (including explaining the logic behind categorisation of the waveforms/tables and what's the best typical use for them - like what tables are good for organ sounds, what are good for string sounds etc.) - to be honest, I would not mind a mini-videocast - like a weekly facebook live broadcast - anywhere between 5-15 minutes (or more... but shorter videos will be more likely to keep you interested in a weekly project like this for a longer period imho) where you explaing various aspects mentioned above. Of course, general sound design (applicable to other synths) will interleave with aspects particular with Rapid, but yeah, in my opinion all you mentioned above worth talking about. Sometimes people don't know what to ask specifically, because they don't know enough on the topic.

This synth is brilliant and has so much potential. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Would really appreciate any English tutorials from the "master" himself - don't mind what the quality of English or video.

no, it do not add smpl chunk because when i try import in rapid its total wrong. but if smpl chunk is support maybe add this in polyphone is better and so the samples can load in other synths too and need not rapid specific save

when click on add files always open file selector on desktop path. Is it possible that it open when call again on last path used ?

Hi,

Yes, English Video Tutorials that cover these aspects of RAPID would be very helpful.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm new to the Rapid family and would love some tutorials in English please :)

Also, I can't seem to find the manual?

Great job with Rapid!

I'm completely new to this WT import stuff, therefore: are there any of those great wavetables available somewhere, or are they always bound to a sound set?

Cheers,
LiteOn
