Help! I want to make a video for a tune.

Ok, wanna make a video to go with a tune. Can anyone advise on best or easiest software to do this with? Obviously need something with synch capabilities, and will prob do an animation. Any advice/pointers welcome.

I recommend Multiquence as an affordable prog for editing the final video

You can do some creative things in Virtualdub using the various free filters that are available - see virtualdub.org
If you use a lossless video codec such as HuffYUV, you can do as many effects and edits as you like without loss of quality (obviously you'll need quite a lot of discspace)

The best, in my opinion, would be Final Cut Pro. Again, not sure if that's any good. Both are Mac only.
Lots of people are pimping Sony Vegas, inexpensive for what you get and a not-too-steep learning curve. Personally, I never got along with Vegas.
I still want to try Cinelerra but I ended up in Dependency Hell (it's on Linux) so I'm taking a time-out.
MainActor looks nice, too. Premiere-lite, as it were.

yeah visualjockey is good! You can do similar things (for free) using winamp's AVS system and the AVSgrabber plug-in for capturing the output to AVI
