+1 :tu:

@Manuel, thanks already so much for this update, finally had some time using it! still hoping to get a reply about the Granular XP, how many drones/soundscapes are in there? or is it more a clubby granular xp?

havin so much fun, i hope this will replace alchemy (granular) for me finally! i couldnt compare them yet side by side :) but the first play around was already very promising! im no pro with synths (i just have too many!) so im looking forward to those comparison feedbacks/videos.

With sfz they would also adress velocity, midi mod / AT, and keyrange like the original sampled intrument, for example in sample robot. I could import libraries from zampler, alchemy etc like they sound in their sampler. In falkon, alchemy, or tal sampler i can import via sfz multisamples and they sound and transpose like the original VST, also when I multisample a VST via samplerobot.
If you want to use velocity zones in Avenger you will need to use one oscillator per velocity zone and prepare your set of multisamples accordingly. Sfz wouldn't help you at all until Avenger will support it which is probably not going to happen.
@Sampleconstruct, looking forward to your feedback on granular synth + a presetpack :)!

I cant say often enough: Avenger is not a big library sampler, like Kontakt etc. Its designed to be a synthesizer, which *can* load Samples into the OSCs, too
But than some more complex workstations like UVI falcon or synths like camel audio alchemy or synthmaster are far more easier workflow to integrate multisamples, to assign every velocity zone per osc takes more time, than all the savings by drag and drop modulation :(
Maybe you could think about an easier multisample / sfz import integration in future, to make avenger to the promised swiss knife.

Is there a tutorial to assign multisamples to the OSCs, or is it just importing every sample in an OSC and setting the key range ?

thats the reason why its too complex. Avenger should stay as simple to use as possible with the tons of features. I do not think adding complex sampler features is a positive thing for Avenger.

we think about sfz import, but only the plain samples and keymapping. No velo zones and other settings etc...

i would rather see improvements, enhancements etc. with the synth options instead of the sampler atm.... :)

i can understand it @sfz import, yeah alchemy can do it, but i would rather have a full featured and AWESOME synth instead of a half baked synth with full sampler, ok this comparison is bad :D

As it gets news features (and as I purchase more and more expansions), Avenger is becoming imo the best possible VST synth on Earth. You guys simply get the sound right. This is the sound of today. When I play the sounds, I get the feeling that my search for the perfect sounds is over.

@msvs
It will be nice if vengeance will update the avenger manual to the latest versions.

Unfortunately this will never happen. Just take a look at their other plugin manuals. For example the sidechain plugin is v3, manual v1! I'd rather ask the same questions over and over again in this thread...

Had a bug with the new granular feature. I stopped the playback but Avenger kept playing a small buffer over and over again. Sometimes this lead to an access violation.

manual update would be really great, cause i wanna check exactly what the strength knob does? kinda confused.

i prefer bugfixing over manualupdate atm !

I agree this synth should be just simple to use and just have great features to shape your sound. I love the browser update now I spend less time searching for the right wavetable and more time making music. By just typing what I am looking for it's a great improvement in my opinion with so many wavetables and shapes and samples you could get loss but with this new browser it's so easy and simple :) . The FFT it's great it would be cool if you hit random wavetable and it would give you a wavetable instead of a shape

Lets see what we ave got again:

Vengeance Sound has updated VPS Avenger to v1.2.0.
Changes:
Added new Granular synthesis module.
Added 32 new Granular presets.
Added granular factory library with 219 waveforms/loops for granular synthesis.
Added new mighty soundbrowser to load sounds into an OSC.
Added the library for the "resampler" into new browser.
Added new release mode for mod-envelope (releasing the note in an attack phase will jump to the correspondent volume in the release phase).
Fixed a problem with ARP undo for patterns B, C, D.
Fixed some ARP issues like hanging notes, pattern issues.
Fixed a issue with loading Impulse samples for "FX Impulse" effect.
Added "verify expansion" to the expansion browser, so that customer expansions can be verified before publishing them. That shows issues with using content from other expansions than the target expansion or the factory.
Added version check for presets: You can not longer load a preset in an outdated Avenger version (example: a preset created with 1.2 using the new granular module loaded into an Avenger 1.0) which would otherwise lead to a crash.
Added new DrumSequencer functions: export to MIDI and import from MIDI, just right-click in the DrumSQ area below.
Added the possibility of live recording the Arpeggiator note output into MIDI (only supported for DAWs which allow MIDI return, and only VST2/3). Just create a new MIDI track and select VPS Avenger as input source.
INIT preset load fix. The correct INIT preset should now be loaded for everyone.
Dozens of smaller bug-fixes.

"Added new DrumSequencer functions: export to MIDI and import from MIDI, just right-click in the DrumSQ area below."
That why we need manual .

cause i wanna check exactly what the strength knob does?
thats simple: the strenght knob defines the amount of movement by the Envelope which is applied. This means, if you have a granular sample and the granular envelope is the default (a ramp), and you put Strenght to 50%, the most upper point of the ramp is 50% of the sample position. If you make Strenght 100%, the Envelope will move until the the very end of the sample (100%)

When I'm back from vacation it's definitely time to explore Avenger's granular power.
