VIP has just updated to 3.0. Will check this in a moment!
http://www.akaipro.com/pages/vip3.0-release-notes
Following NI, Akai shared their own plugin map standard, letting developers (on top of users who already share plugin maps) support vIP features on their own.

Now if the developers take this up...
"Developers can specify the control interaction and preset tagging for their instruments/effects to ensure the best possible user experience."
AND....it actually works, this could be a tempting proposition given preset tagging and the greater number of controllers on the Akai keyboards.
(Actually not as many controls as I thought

Yet no maps for Arturia V3 which came out over a year ago! I'm yet to download the update but in the light of the numerous bugs and lack of support by Akai, my hopes aren't that high.
And a chord progression library?? I'd rather they used the energy on something else. Chord progression plugins such as Chordspace etc have done the job for for free in ages.

VIP can now be used with any controller. That's nice!DJ Warmonger wrote:VIP has just updated to 3.0. Will check this in a moment!

New update didn't fix all the issues with VIP I had. In particular, I cannot actually link the keyboard to VIP app and support didn't bother to answer yet.
Plus, Iris 2 maps aren't there despite they were advertised and claimed to be "fixed" a year ago

Is there not a big user community generating maps as there was with Kore?
Does it have morphing yet?

This one thread is all I've found and since Akai's forum seems to be down (for me at least) that's all.

Typically if the keyboard and the app don't link, it means the VIP driver wasn't installed.DJ Warmonger wrote:New update didn't fix all the issues with VIP I had. In particular, I cannot actually link the keyboard to VIP app and support didn't bother to answer yet.

Sure there is. But no one will make own map for a plugin that was supposed to be officially supported by AkaiaMUSEd wrote:Is there not a big user community generating maps as there was with Kore?

Even with the 3.0 update. Arturia v5 and Spectrasonics Keyscape plugin maps are absent. I think it's safe to say they will not come. It's up to the users to make them if they want them.

I just got an Advance 49 and, for me, it's the most fun I've ever had using my VSTs. Really opens up a ton of sound layering possibilities too inside of VIP. I tried an Maudio code first but it didn't operate nearly as smoothly with the VIP software.
Though it is a pretty big undertaking, there are ways to auto/manually import patches so it is possible to achieve working Arturia plugs. I wish they worked correctly too, but at least the option is there.
