Hi Bansaw,
I tried some drum vst's and sold some again.
I like Reasamplomatic now. Save every drumkit you make as a tracktemplate.
I like Looploft's drummidi, they don't sound lifeless to me.
If you have an account there and get the newsletter you get good discounts through the year.
For samples I like Samples from Mars; the drummachines they sampled sound good in my songs. They had a deal last year with all the website content for $20.
Wave Alchemy is nice and also Zenhiser sound good to me.
You know about Loopmasters and Prime Loops?
I would not buy a lot; find out what your favourite sounds are and buy some of those.
When working with midi; Reaper's has some js midi randomizer plugins (timing, velocity, pitch).
If you install SWS extensions there is a groove tool that you can use for midinotes.
Drum Production; That's a whole story. Watch as many tutorials, buy a monthly subsciption to Groove3, PureMix and others.
Make sure that the sounds you choose add to the song's frequency palette.
Good luck.

I now have Polyplex and these drums sound very good and are layered.

Cool, btw Looploft is not pricey, I mostly paid between $5 and $10, with codes you get in newsletter etc and you get an extra full samplepack with it. The midi´s fit my music. Of course it all depends on style. Polyplex seems a nice thing to check, is it multi out to the DAW? I would use it in Reaktor player.Bansaw wrote:Thanks, I know about Loopmaster. Did you get EDM drum midi? Whats the Looploft link? I don't think I saw EDM midi.electricthing wrote: I mostly paid between $5 and $10, with codes you get in newsletter etc

Yeah, Polyplex can route each drum sound to different outputs in Reaktor. It's my favorite drum plugin, practically impossible to not get good sounds out of it.electricthing wrote:Polyplex seems a nice thing to check, is it multi out to the DAW? I would use it in Reaktor player.

I mentioned Looploft cause they are not lifeless, but maybe not for pure EDM. I love it when all the good stuff of musicstyles gets thrown together.Bansaw wrote:Did you get EDM drum midi? Softube HeartBeat use it with Softube modular and you get far more out of it. Watch the DeADmau5 masterclass and make your own with it.
